Was super excited to try this place after going to Glasgow for the first time in August 2025 and finding out this is the crowned the best Shawarma in Glasgow. Truthfully, I don't get the hype. The food was very salty and nothing wow. Was expecting it to be way better for the title it has. Went on a weekday evening - there were a quite few customers about so did have a bit of a wait and with it being a small shop - be prepared for the queue to be outside. The older guy at the till was super helpful and explained all in Arabic. But I had better Shawarma at Lazord Syrian Restaurant during my stay in Glasgow.

I have nothing to compare this to other than I know good food when I taste it. I’m not a shawarma aficionado and I don’t have extensive experience eating it. What I do know is this shawarma has set the bar really high for me. I was expecting long lines but fortunately we were able to walk right in and order. I ordered the mix of meats. The meat is so flavorful and juicy and the bread is soft and so fresh. The bit of pickled veg is just the perfect contrast to the meat mix and then the sauce just ties the perfect bite all together. I knew it was legit when a black Lexus pulled up to the curb and four men with sunglasses, who look like they know shawarma, get out to order their food. No talking. Just waiting. They get the bag and drive off.

Favourite Shawarma in Glasgow! The lamb.. oh the lamb! So tasty and juicy! And they do a strawberry soft drink called Mirinda. So happy to always go to shawarma kings.. everything always very fresh!

Stopped in for a chicken and a lamb shawarma wrap. £7 for a large. We had to wait a while as there was a massive queue of people before us. The food was hot, fresh and tasty . The bread was amazing. Would go back, there wasn't enough chicken in it for me but it was tasty none the less.

Shawarma King – Scotland’s Undisputed Shawarma Champion? Crowned Scotland’s Best Shawarma four years in a row since 2022 – that alone was enough to pique our curiosity. What really drew us in, though, was the long queue in front of the small shopfront. We tried both the large lamb and chicken shawarma. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, but what truly stood out was the pickled vegetable garnish – bold, crunchy, and full of flavor. For our taste, it was slightly too salty, but others might enjoy the punch. The only downside: there’s hardly any seating nearby, which made it tricky to enjoy the meal comfortably on the spot. Be prepared to eat on the go or find a bench somewhere close. All in all, Shawarma King lives up to its name. If you're willing to wait in line, you'll be rewarded with a flavorful, satisfying meal that just might justify the hype.

Went late at night on a Sunday, after 10pm and there was a good crowd outside and this just shows what a great shop this is. I had the lamb shawarma on naan, fancied a mixed but the chicken was running low (and the spits are massive so must have been a busy night) and it would've been a 25 minute wait for fresh. However I certainly wasn't let down by the offering. A massive fresh naan, filled with juicy shavings of lamb, soft with the odd little crispy edge. Fresh garlic sauce which was beautiful and not overpowering like some. The chilli sauce was tasty but not overly powerful. A small box of salad in the side with lovely fresh salad, onion, jalapeño, tomatoes etc. Think I had a 10 minute wait all together, even with the crowd infront of me. £8.50 well spent. Definitely worth a visit, I'd have loved to have tried a few things on the menu.

Tried a few times. Fresh. Succulent meats. Tasty. Great service and standard. It's constantly queued out for a reason. It's worth the wait and unbelievable value for money. Best in Scotland by far.

Hands down the best shawarma I’ve ever had and also one of the best takeaways in Glasgow. The lamb shawarma tastes really good and I think the prices are reasonable. Because of the high demand, orders usually take around 20 to 35 minutes but the taste is really worth the wait.

Actually quite a good combination of the crispy lamb with the cabbage. We stumbled upon this place by chance after a walk in the necropolis and a drink in a nearby pub. Please be prepared to wait at least 20' though for your shawarma as they take the time to prepare it when ordered (go to the cashier, order and you'll get a number that they will call).

They recently won best shawarma in Glasgow 2022 and they are the best in whole Glasgow so far, I love the unique taste and it's get freshly made while you wait and their price are very reasonable too ,they Often get too busy but still worth waiting for. (_Top Tip_)usually an order takes up to 2.5 minutes per order to get completed so be ready for average about 20 to 30 minutes which is not bad in busy time. Taste 5/5 Service 3.5/5 Quality 5/5 Prices 5/5
