Iβve not ordered or visited the Clay Oven for years but got one via Uber Eats yesterday. The food was really tasty, and good portions. We had some curries, sides, pakora and naan. The spice and gravy flavour was fresh and in some cases amazingly subtle. Well done Clay Oven - weβll order again soon

We had a takeaway last Sunday and we really enjoyed it. The Prawn Mayan was delicious and plenty succulent prawns too. Some other restaurants are very stingy on the prawns. Hubby and kids loved it too and will definitely be ordering from here again in the future.

I recently had the misfortune of ordering from the Clay Oven and I can't emphasise enough how disappointing my experience was. I ordered their mushroom rice, expecting a delicious burst of flavour, but instead, I found myself horrified by a massive chunk of spice, larger than I could have ever imagined lurking in my dish. As I dug in, I noticed something hard and suspicious. At first, I thought it might be a piece of an aromatic ingredient, but upon closer inspection, it was clear this was an entire spice. The kind that could easily have caused someone to choke if they'd taken a big bite without noticing. How does something like this make its way into a dish at a restaurant? I can only imagine the potential danger of someone not realising it was in there and swallowing it by accident. Not only was this careless, but it was also entirely avoidable. What makes the experience even worse is that afterwards, I called the restaurant to explain the situation and was instantly met with hostility. The staff simply said it was a spice. There was absolutely zero customer service, not even an apology. I was left feeling shaken and disappointed, and I wonβt be returning. Truly a safety hazard masquerading as a meal.

I recently ordered takeout via JustEats, and while the Tandoori Tikka Massallam was okay, it wasnβt anything special. It tasted very similar to butter chicken, which made it feel a bit underwhelming. The real disappointment was their Clay Oven's Assorted Tandoori, which I expected to be great since itβs their signature dish. Unfortunately, it was overly salty and too heavily spiced. The sheek kebabs had a dry, powdery texture and didnβt hold together well. Overall, the meal fell short of my expectations.

Been coming to The Clay Oven for many years now, both at its current place and previously when it was also a restaurant at Churchill. The quality of the food never ceases to delight and what ever your taste in Indian food youβll find something to like here and the staff are always friendly. Highly Recommended.

Placed an order earlier tonight for collection , only had to wait half an hour which was great. Chicken Bhuna, Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka & Buttered Chicken, Pilau rice and 2 Peshwari Nan. All amazing, good portions and very tasty. Very hot as well which is not always the case when ordering take awayβs. Poppadoms weβre good but the onions & Mango sauce were a bit underwhelming. Will definitely be back for more of the curries.

Due to disappointingly discovering that the Hill Station was closed we decided to find a new Indian takeaway. We ordered to full meals and 1 side, all of which I would give 2 out of 10. Butterfly prawn was dry and tasteless, dishes were grainy and not creamy tasting like previous restaurant experiences. You would also think for spending Β£40+ there would be complimentary poppadoms, maybe times have changed. The βspiced onionsβ was what I can describe as an 1/8th of an onion with a fraction of garnish and looked as tasty as an equivalent sized tub of sand. Happy to say I wonβt be back.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious - perfectly spiced for flavour, not just heat. Would highly recommend.

I ate at the restaurant some years ago. It was ok. But I got a delivery from their takeaway a few days ago and it was absolutely lovely. Quick delivery friendly service. Food hot and very tasty. I'll be back for more.
