My new favourite Thai place. The pad thai is one of the best, and portions are great. The panang curry was spicy, proper spicy. Takeaway only (although there's a breakfast bar type seating area, maybe you can eat in?). Only gripe is prices are a wee bit high.

We’re from Southeast Asia and this was hands down the best pad thai we’ve had outside of Thailand! The tom kha gai (my favorite Thai dish) was AMAZING! This is our new favorite place! We ate in, and were the only people who did (there’s space for about 6 dine-in customers), but lots of takeaway orders throughout the night. The service was really great too, and everyone was warm and friendly. Lots of great vegan options too, and as people said in other reviews, good sized portions. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic food, generous portions, friendly and passionate staff. My fiancée is absolutely obsessed with their pineapple rice, I’d highly recommend a curry and getting a side of the coconut rice. Also the best satay chicken I’ve ever had!

Good food, authentic and do it very proper. We ordered two dishes tonight, pork belly rice and jungle curry prawn + coconut rice. Pork belly rice: It is hard to make proper pork belly because you need to deep fry then cook it through. Some thai restaurant not even deep fried it, but here doing it not only right but more than that. Deep fried, then cook through, the skin have some texture but not tough. Veg, especially onion is not overcooked, and the rice stay together. Jungle prawn curry: The staff ask me twice that "it is a bit watery, it that ok?" And i know they do it in a proper way. Prawns are in good size, and crunchy. Believe it or not some restaurants' prawns are mushy. Aubergine cooked precisely, not as hard as raw and not as overcooked like a slug. Watery curry may not your first choice but just give it a go, you will be amazed especially in a heatwave. And the hint of lemongrass (not the precooked ones, the are fresh and fried) Coconut rice: Not the thick creamy rice like rice pudding, it is light and fluffy with toasted coconut ground. Again, fresh and delish. The portion is big, even if they downsized one third of it I am still satisfied. Staff are friendly, they even give us a separate bowl for the watery jungle curry to prevent from leaking. The chef knows exactly what timing is the best to cook and serve. When we go there at 8:45pm, they are very busy for the takeaway order so we wait a for 15 minutes, but that's the most worthwhile for such a good food. Ps. We are very picky Asian food critics, yet we are more than happy to go again. Thank you for your food.

We sat in the shopfront where there are around 8 stools and a bench. We had sweet and sour prawns and chicken with cashew nuts and both were good. We also had egg fried rice which is rice and egg, nothing else. They also sell beers, wines and softdrinks.

I have to say Papaya is such a wonderful restaurant, one of the most friendly and delicious restaurants in Edinburgh! I endorse it as a PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh. The owner/driver is so friendly and hospitable. I was surprised and moved by the cuisines as a Thai food person…chicken satay and lamb skewers are one of the top dishes among all the Edinburgh Thai food restaurants; and, their Pad See Ew, gosh, I cannot find a word to describe: noodles are chewy, sauce is appetising, quantity is satisfying. So is Gun Hom Pa! The prawn spring rolls! The best spring rolls that I have ever had in my life - I lived 20 years in China and this is the first time! Bangkok style pork ribs is a must as well. I just ordered five dishes this time but none of them disappointed me! Will order many time in the future and try other dishes; hope to eat in some day.

What an amazing food! Lovely flavours… We ordered Popcorn chicken, dumplings, Panang, Massaman curry and coconut rice. Every one of them was superb. Even the rice was full of flavour. This was our first time here and we’ll be definitely going back. Thanks!

Rarely find good thai food in Edinburgh since tasting authentic version in Thailand but this place served up very tasty dishes which we all enjoyed. We ordered the Thai Red curry, fried chicken with rice and also a noodle dish. Highly recommend.
