The restaurant is run seamlessly by just two staff — one in the kitchen and one front of house — and the service is regimented, efficient, and quietly confident. The focus is exactly where it should be: on exceptional food. The menu is rooted in tradition and shows deep respect for local, high-quality ingredients — something you can see reflected in every course. Dishes are clean, elegant, and full of flavour, reminding you that the best meals don’t need to be complicated. The warm Parmesan tart was exceptional — almost like a cheese soufflé in its lightness yet deeply savoury flavour. Even the house wine was perfectly chosen, complementing and lifting the richness of the dish with effortless ease. It’s also remarkable value for money: essentially five courses, coffee, and well-priced wines at £68. For cooking and hospitality of this standard, it feels both generous and rare. This is a place for those who value food prepared with care, restraint, and respect for provenance. If you appreciate honest, local, ingredient-driven cooking done at the highest level, I highly recommend it.

   Early Saturday evening dinner in this bright, comfortable and intimate restaurant. The menu choice, though restricted, was excellent. The food was superb and served by helpful and pleasant staff. Given the high quality of food and service this really represents value for money. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
