A brilliant restaurant and bar. Really welcoming staff and delicious food. Ewan was a great waiter! The drinks were fab and prices are reasonable and fair.

My first meal in Scotland and I tried some typical local food and the taste is surprisingly amazing! I got a bit tipsy though as the whisky is part of the ingredients. I had an amazing dinning experience here. Service is great , and the atmosphere is chill and relaxing. Highly recommended!

Great place for food and a drink. A little hidden away but worth a visit, just off the Royal Mile. The service was great and the seating on the upper outside terrace was great. The food is prepared with love and presented well. We had the Haggis, Crab Cakes and chips with a couple of light drinks. I was worried about having Haggis for the first time, but if everyone prepares it like this, I really like it! Worth visiting for lunch.

Haggis- I tried it and it was very good. We had the deep fried mushrooms also, the steak was very good and the Brie salad with raspberry sauce was greatβ-I am sorry the picture does not do it justice. There is an inside restaurant and a patio. The festival has been popping for the whole month of August and they are still engaging people with great hospitality.

Popped in for a drink with my daughter on our way to the castle. Had the most amazing mulled wine. Then later on got one at the Christmas Market, such a disappointment.

Had the traditional fish and chips. What an absolute joke. You get french fries style chips (what is traditional about that?) with a piece of overcooked cod. Nothing else with it for Β£16.what a waste of money. My boyfriend had the pepper corn chicken the sauce tasted so much like pepper you couldn't taste anything else. Awfull experience and a waste of our money and evening.

Really busy Edinburgh Tattoo time but still managed to fit us in (party of four). Not any good if you have mobility issues as you have to go down stairs. It doesn't look much from the outside but warm atmosphere inside also have a great terrace area for eating outside. Now to the food when the waitress came first thing asked was if anyone had any allergies I'm coeliac so was glad to hear they are aware was given a list of all the things that had anything in that could make me ill giving me the chance to make a decision unfortunately most things did contain gluten but I asked if it was possible to have the lamb chops without haggis girl checked with chef (she was new and only 14 bless) she came back and said chef could do lamb chops with mashed potatoes and veg with a red wine gravy all gf and it was absolutely delicious and I had no side effects so obviously no cc. only reason for 4 stars is the stairs going in. Would recommend this place to eat.

Best Fish and Chips in Scotland! Outstanding balcony views of Edinburgh city scape. Extremely friendly staff have us lots of local insight and just a lovely place to sit and relax. A must see when visiting Edinburgh, it sits above JK Rowling's inspiration for Diagonally!
