“Came to Scotland for Holiday and had 2 meals here, breakfast and lunch. Met the owner, Paula, the first time we came in & she was nothing but welcoming. Even gave me a hug as she noticed I was absolutely freezing..She treated us like family. Her staff both times, were incredibly kind, service was fast and food was hot & homemade. Great menu with fresh pastries. HIGHLY recommend for anyone to stop in for a cozy meal, who wants to feel at home. Posted below is their homemade macaroni and cheese with bacon and chips, as well as their Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon & flat white coffee..Also very accommodating for reservations. You can find a spot on their website to make s reservation & Paula responded to my inquiry quickly..We were 15 minutes late due to traffic from Glasgow but the staff seemed incredibly happy to still greet/serve us.”
“Did my birthday lunch at Harbour Bistro and wouldn’t have gone for any other place! Michael’s an amazing chef and that reflected well on all the dishes we had. Everything was so fresh and flavourful. Service was top notch, we were well taken care of by Kasia. Great value for money and the food just hits the spot. Look no further if you’re looking for a nice cosy restaurant to eat in!!”
“My husband and I were visiting Scotland from the states and this was our last night. I wanted pizza. We always try to find off the beaten path restaurants because they are usually better than your typical tourist area restaurants. My husband found this place and one look at the menu and I knew I was getting something other than pizza. From the first bit of the focaccia to the last bite of dessert it was amazing! My husband had the tagliatelle Marsala and I ordered the Panzerotti Porcini and we shared. I wish we had tried the pizza but we had no room left for another bite. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to these travelers with no advanced booking. From the hostess to the manager. If you ever find yourself in the Edinburgh airport area GO HERE!”
“The whole visit was amazing. The best poached eggs ever, very fast service, my Dad's best ever hot chocolate, and he's 89. I cannot fault a single thing here. My Dad's trip to Kirkcaldy was perfect. Thank you.”
“My partner and I went to this stunning cafe for breakfast, food was amazing this was our second visit. People are lovely, We will be going again soon.”
“Honestly our whole experience was amazing. The service was so good, all the waiters were so friendly and professional The restaurant manager let a have a table out of the way as my daughter hates loud noises. He was very polite and professional also. The food was excellent, im a 30 year chef and could not fault it. They use a renowned butcher for all their meat. And it really shows!!. It was like eating butter and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back.”
“Booked in for Lunch with my Mum and Dad. Unfortunately my Mum was ill and could not come. I am glad we still went along. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Between the two of us we had 6 Courses and had no fault with any of them. Would recommend " The Crown Harburn ". Definitely coming back.”
“La Viola, Edinburgh – A Sweet Slice of Heaven Tucked away in the heart of Edinburgh, La Viola is a dreamy little haven for dessert lovers. I tried the pistachio cheesecake and the Nutella cheesecake — both were pure indulgence. The pistachio was silky, subtly nutty, and beautifully balanced, while the Nutella was rich, decadent, and melt-in-your-mouth divine. Each bite felt like a quiet celebration. A perfect spot for a sweet pause in the city.”
“Great Greek food in Edinburgh! Family owned spot with authentic Greek food options and large portions. Everything we ordered was very flavorful and felt like being in Greece again. We chose the bread basket, tzatziki, pita pita (grilled chicken fillet with pita bread) and the yaourtlou. The bread was nicely grilled with a good covering of olive oil, salt and oregano. Addicting! The tzatziki was as they serve it in Greece and definitely a must order for the table. The chicken fillet was tender and very flavorful, served with thick cut fries. Finally the yaourtlou was delicious with a good serving of red tomato sauce, yogurt, herbs and spices with a large soutzoukaki portion. Happy to have come across this place while in Edinburgh!”
“While in leith you have too definitely need to go into this cafe. The cakes are delicious and loads to choose off. We only had an orange cake and a coffee and tea this time but would definitely be back to try other food on offer. You can also bring your dog with you as long it’s well behaved . Took a takeaway cake home and it was delicious too.”
“Went for lunch with a friend who lives in Penicuik. Amazing value compared with anywhere in Edinburgh. Good freshly prepared food and friendly, helpful service.”
“Amazing staff. Absolutely loved the food. Loved the vibe. My first time trying Mese and it's delicious. I can't wait to return!”
“Myself and my friend had breakfast in here last week. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent and very attentive. I would highly recommend Foodies Bistro to anyone. Ivan and his staff do an amazing job- Craig and Mike, National Museums Scotland.”
“Gem of a wee place that I am happy to have rediscovered. Food, service and staff are all superb. Had a smashing Steak & Eggs washed down with a spot-on Bloody Mary. Would also have happily have eaten partners Huevos Rancheros. Revist def planned for the evening/dinner menu.”
“Lovely lunch! Excellent quality local dishes prepared with care. Mussels were as standout as was sea bass. Great, thoughtful service.”
“Fantastic food, excellent service and a great location too. Definitely recommend this place. It sits almost at the bottom of Tinto, which is a great hike for walkers. It took almost two hours to get to the top and the views are spectacular to say the least. The restaurant is next to the Carmichael farm shop, so after your meal, pop in and pick up some first class meat too. We'll definitely be back again. Well-earned five stars!”
“Took my family for dinner. Food was great quality and quantity. Staff friendly and helpful. Took to the bar after which had the football on. Mixed age groups, all welcomed and a cosy fire.”
“Best lasagna I’ve ever had. Homemade noodles. From USA and this place in Scotland was amazing. Food came out piping hot which I love”
“We came to Porto and Fi for a family reunion dinner. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. It was quiet and we were able to talk and hear each other easily. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. A standout was the vegetarian quiche - absolutely the best quiche I’ve ever had. It was served with a lovely salad and very tasty coleslaw. It was so good my husband and I returned on our last night in Edinburgh. Highly recommended!”
“Lovely food, great service, handicap friendly toilet, central location. Dogs are welcome.”
“Nice clean cafe. Pleasant staff. And as you can see by the picture, food is great.”
“Had dinner with a friend, and enjoyed every minute, staff are incredibly friendly our waitress Jessica was very good, and food was very good aswell”
“I didn't stay at the hotel but visited the bistro for food. The mussels are incredible, fresh, full of flavour and the bread on the side was epic. The family had various other items and thoroughly enjoyed theirs. Will 100% be back when next in town.”
“We’ve been to the Park Bistro twice now and it’s been fantastic each time, the food is great quality and all of our dishes have been delicious (*except for the Lemon Meringue Pie which was disappointing with solid meringue and soggy base but I have very high standards as my Mum makes the BEST) The Biscoff Toffee Waffle is epic! The Pork Tenderloin was incredible and everyone enjoyed it both times we’ve been. The staff are friendly even when it’s busy, memorable place.”
“Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the city, but not too busy of a spot, so no loud noises waking you up. Rooms are very comfortable, bed was soft and cushioned but supportive, very comfortable. We had room service the first night since we got in kind of late. Food was pretty good. Would stay here again and highly recommend the hotel.”
“A cozy spot with delicious food, friendly service, and a lovely garden at the back. A great place to relax and enjoy a quality meal in Edinburgh.”
“Wow this place is just fantastic. A hidden gem. The food and service were excellent. Such a beautiful location, good parking and baby facilities. Family friendly. Definitely will be back.”
“Very pleasant and friendly place with nice cosy sofas.”
“Wonderful tasty food. Service was second to none - Peter and his colleagues were top class professionals, friendly, polite and without doubt a key part of the relaxed ambience here. We had dishes from the lunch menu, and aside of there being plenty of lovely food, was also excellent value. If you've not been here, booking a table is recommended! The whole experience was so enjoyable, and despite us living in Glasgow, we intend to visit again. Well done to all the staff.”
“Very good restaurant. Highly recommend it .Lovely staff and fresh food .”
