It's a nice hotel in a good location. However, it's very expensive for what it is. The rooms are perfectly acceptable but not a wow factor. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Had the full English breakfast with poached eggs. The two poached eggs were not runny and the sausage was a very small skinny thing with little or no flavour. When paying this sort of money I would expect perfect poached eggs and a really good quality fat sausage. I didn't bother with my breakfast on the second day and elected to have breakfast at BA Lounge at the airport. The breakfast there was much better. On a positive. All the staff were great and very helpful.

My husband and I loved our stay at this hotel. It's an old historic building which looks rather understated from the outside, but when we entered into the courtyard it all opened up. We were warmly welcomed at reception, shown around and taken up to our room. The room was lovely, very comfortable and had everything we could want, including usb sockets, large bed and large bathroom. I had forgotten to mention my allergy to feathers, but I spoke to reception and they very quickly organised Housekeeping to change the pillows and quilt. We really enjoyed the quality and freshness of the food here, We had the best ever freshly made scones in the afternoon, then a delicious evening meal in the Bistro - with some really nice wine of course. Breakfast was so tasty - from the freshly squeezed orange juice to the freshly prepared and bacon and eggs. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, above and beyond. Special shout out to Khyatt, Ben and Jennifer.

Loved this old & elegant hotel. Location perfect. Upgraded to a beautiful & spotless suite for a small fee. Staff wonderful. Bar nice. Did not use restaurant. Caution for those with mobility issues - there was a lift to the 4th floor but still stairs. Staff happy to take luggage up. Would stay here again!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the city, but not too busy of a spot, so no loud noises waking you up. Rooms are very comfortable, bed was soft and cushioned but supportive, very comfortable. We had room service the first night since we got in kind of late. Food was pretty good. Would stay here again and highly recommend the hotel.

Wonderful hotel top to bottom! Great location in the middle of Edinburgh. Very courteous front desk and bar staff. Room was very nice and well appointed. Awesome dining room with great offering of food and wine. The breakfast was fantastic. Loved the courtyard patio. Great job Hotel du Vin!

Fantastic Hotel, well priced and gave us a small extra gift for my wife's 30th birthday. We will be sure to return when we next visit Edinburgh without children. Whilst I'm sure children are welcome, it definitely feels like more of an adult hotel! Only thing I would suggest would be upgrading the TVs in the rooms to allow casting media to them, but this would be the only thing we would change!

Our room was big with the bath to the side. Very large walk in shower. Very clean and lots of extras. Including a coffee machine and many types of tea with a kettle. The hotel itself has parts ( walls and beams) which are hundreds of years old. Nice restaurant and bar areas. Staff and services very good. Great location in the centre of everything.

Sunday Roast at Hotel du Vin. What a treat ! Chicken Parfait followed by Roast Beef & Pot Au Chocolate with some nice wine. Food was amazing, service brilliant and nice place to be for a quiet lunch. We did have a slight issue with one dish however this was dealt with by the amazing floor manager so could not ask for more. Thanks for a great meal & great service we will be back soon.

We love everything about Hotel Du Vin. Our room, the suite was huge, gorgeous and had the largest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel. The bed was enormous and so comfortable. We loved the huge tub! The location is perfect, walking distance to most major tourist attractions. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Breakfast was delicious. This is truly a gem you don't want to miss if you are traveling to Edinburgh. Hurray for Hotel Du Vin!!!
