Enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast at The Royal Dick pub yesterday afternoon. The beef was perfectly tender and the portion size was generous (especially with the roast potatoes!). It’s hard to find a good roast dinner in the centre of Edinburgh, but this one hit the spot. Left full and happy. Highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch at The Royal Dick! The new Sunday menu is seriously tasty, everything was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and the portions were really generous. We loved the roast potatoes! You can tell there’s a lot of care and attention going into it. Easily one of the best Sunday roasts in Edinburgh!
Located right in the heart of 'festival land' during the festival. This is a bar in an old veterinary school with outside seating. Located next to Barney's brewery and they sell a lot of the beer - strange that the Barney's beer here is more expensive than other places (eg Finch in Leith). Only negative was that during festival all drink is served on plastic glasses.
Went at a very quiet time, around 1 on a Monday. Was the only person in the pub. Huge space with several tables booked for the evening. Great decor. Good selection of Barney's Beers.
Really enjoyed this spot! Found it on a Google map search while we were in the area. The BLT and Calamari sandwiches were delicious. Would highly recommend this place for a quick and cheap but tasty dinner! Visited from Canada by the way and we’ll be back next time we’re in Edinburgh.
No student discount on drinks but a beautiful place with candle light tables and some snacks.
Excelent in all ways, friendly atmosphere, nice and efficient staff, delicious food, and amazing beers from their own brewery. In addicion the decoration is brilliant. I love it.
We’re in a strange world at the moment, but my pint in the courtyard of the Summer Hall was the most normal pint I’ve had since March! Very well organised seating area and route through to and out of the bar. This shows how to have lots of people drinking safely. Great beer too!
Our friend in Edinburgh went to vet school at The Royal Dick and suggested we go for a drink and some food. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the drinks are great and the food was delicious. I will definitely be putting this on my list of places to come back to.
Open pub, with novel lagers, and a large selection of gins from the Pickering Distillery next door. Staff were particularly pleasant. The rooms are interestingly decorated with flags, tribal masks and hats.
