An amazing dining experience, all locally produced ingredients, supremely cooked, a beautiful place in its own right and literally on my door step. The staff were excellent, well trained, polite and friendly. There's a warmth to this place that can only really be described by visiting, which I whole heartedly recommend

After coming to the Pig with friends for two lunches, celebrating a 40th birthday with a private dinner, and spending Christmas here in 2025, we are still in awe of the Pig near Bath. The hotel itself is very cosy and does feels like home (we are coming back for next Christmas); the food at the restaurant is incredible (we have not been disappointed by anything that comes out of that kitchen); the deer park, the garden and nature surrounding the Pig is truly relaxing. But the one thing that continues to amaze us at the Pig, is the PEOPLE. Ashley, both Sams, Izzy, Daisy, Catherine, Jasmine, Jess , Sophie and everyone else feel like friends now. No request (and we made more than we'd like to admit) felt too big; the attention to detail was incredible (to the point where the house keeping team sneak into your room for a second (!) tidy up of the room while you are having dinner); and the friendly and helpful attitude is contagious. We have felt very special and spoiled, thank you so much for making our time here memorable. M and V.

Absolutely brilliant. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. From the initial greeting, grand tour and room in the amazing gardens - wow! This hotel is set in magnificent grounds. I am actually out of superlatives! On top of all this the staff are brilliant. Most of them seem very young but are a credit to the Pig Group. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed every aspect. Thanks for the birthday cookies!

The Pig recently held a beautiful feast for 36 of our closest friends and family for a special occasion, and we couldn't be more delighted with the experience. From start to finish, everything was handled with care, warmth, and genuine hospitality. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating an atmosphere that felt relaxed, joyful, and effortlessly smooth. The ambiance of the venue was light and magical, and perfectly suited to the spirit of our gathering. It helped that the weather was also stunning. A special thank you to Steff, the manager, who was nothing but accommodating, attentive, and wonderfully personal throughout the entire process. His calm, comforting presence and attention to detail made everything feel seamless and hugely put our minds at ease while organising. And the FOOD — absolutely phenomenal. Guests could not stop raving about the dishes. We are still getting messages 4 weeks on from some of our ‘foodie’ family members about how much they loved it! The chefs prepared a creative array of options for our casual buffet-style feast, each dish as beautifully presented as it was delicious. Every option was crafted with clear expertise and passion, and you could taste it in every bite. We are still glowing from the experience and so grateful to everyone involved for helping create such a memorable occasion. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will remember this day (and the food!) forever.

Almost the Pig near Bristol as it’s only .5 mile closer to Bath but Bath sounds much posher to attract a particular clientele. Just returned from an awesome two night stay in a snug room. Room rates are competitive with the rooms being really nicely decorated and comfortable. There’s a chargeable mini-bar too. Check in staff are fab and make feel like part of the Pig family from the get go. The food is amazing and tastes exquisite; this is where I take issue. Most of the produce is grown in their own kitchen garden or sourced locally but you shouldn’t pay through the nose for nice food. The Food bill for 2 people was £146! It’s the same at breakfast too; the breakfast table of toast, coffee, etc is £18 and the cooked offering is £25 Food pricing is basically twice what you should be paying. Even drinks served from the well stocked bar is comparable to other establishments. Having said that the restaurant was packed, food served by a whole host of waiting staff that were very knowledgeable and made you feel right at home. Despite the over priced food I’ll continue my quest to stay at each Pig.

Just home from an outstanding 3 night stay at The Pig in Bath! We were celebrating a big birthday with family members and wanted a whole list of things. The staff were fantastic, our room lovely, the food including a cake, spot on and basically everything was perfect, which is hard to find these days in anything!! So a big thanks indeed to everyone at The Pig for making such a special occasion so memorable for all the right reasons. We hope to return soon and for longer! Big thanks to all. Really recommend a visit!

A surprising visit, excelling my expectations. A beautiful venue where we dined for a private party using "the billiard room". A good menu choice of fresh local, homegrown produce. Food was exquisite with good sized portions for adults and children. Staff did their job well, giving us the space appreciated for a private gathering but we just outside the door of we needed something. Toilets were at the other end of the building and are individual which is a nice touch but beware, you need to know sows from boars. Well worth every penny. Will be returning for a special treat.

My partner and I went to the Pig near Bath yesterday evening for massages and dinner to celebrate our first anniversary. It is a special place for us as we had our first date in your bar and restaurant and we have been with friends for various lunches and dinners in the intervening time. I wanted to tell you what an absolutely perfect evening we had! Every single member of the staff, from James who greeted us and showed us the gardens and treatment huts, to the bar staff and restaurant waiting staff, to the phenomenal masseuses Laura and Emily, were xenial in the first class! The cocktails were superb, the massages were relaxing and thorough beyond any I’ve had elsewhere, and every mouthful of our meal was delicious, as always. But it is on the staff that I really want to give feedback. Unfailingly courteous, humbly good-humoured yet engaging, and attentive to every detail of the experience. My masseuse, Laura, really knew her stuff. Each member of the waiting staff knew the menu and was able to answer our questions and offer recommendations when asked. A really well-trained and welcoming team. And to top it off, our host James very kindly arranged for a complementary glass of bubbly and some ‘Piggy Fours’ for us on the house in light of our anniversary celebration. What a charming touch! My partner and I love the place and will be back every year to celebrate our anniversary, (and plenty of times in between, no doubt!). I can’t thank you all enough for our magical and flawless evening and for your unparalleled hospitality. Keep up that great work!

Been a few times, but the last visit I felt the quality has dropped for the price they charge, we went for lunch and it felt more like a cafeteria than a nice restaurant, the service was good but it was so noisy with screaming babies that it spoils the atmosphere of the place, not sure I would return for lunch. The food was good but one of the starters was just a load of pan fried onions not worth the price of £9, also the mains are not cheap, and then on top on that £5 for each side, I feel this is just over the top for what you they serve and charge. Hope it improves.

All our expectations were exceeded during our two night stay at The Pig near Bath. Our room was wonderful; spacious, comfortable, homely with a roll-top bath, lovely toiletries and a well-stocked mini-bar. The communal social areas in the hotel, including the bar and restaurant, were both warm and welcoming; truly a home away from home. The food is of course excellent, but the thing that really stood out for us was the exceptional guest care we received from *all* staff during our visit. Nothing was too much trouble - the bar manager was fabulous, as were front of house and all restaurant staff. We really felt looked after from the moment we arrived to when we (sadly!) had to leave... I don't think I have stayed anywhere where the customer service was better, friendlier or more genuine. We will definitely be returning!!
