Had a lovely meal here today. We were greeted by Sharon in a warm and friendly manner and she quickly arranged a table for us even although we hadn’t booked in advance. We were served by Marcus who was very knowledgeable, explained items on the menu as one of the party had food intolerances, nothing was too much hassle. He was very attentive and gave us a great experience. Food came quickly, was cooked perfectly and the portion size was good for the price. On the face of it this place seems expensive. However the service, environment and quality of food is well worth it. Will definitely return soon.

Staff are all lovely and polite. Atmosphere is great. The Turkey roulade was amazing and lemon tart was the best I ever had. Tiniest complaint that the Camembert was a bit small but still delicious and the cranberry sauce had orange which made it so light and refreshing. Love the manager Sharon! Always pleasant and goes the extra mile!

We met up with friends from Bristol at lunchtime, Thursday and we had a great meal, chosen from the current festive menu. Starters, mains and desserts were excellent. We were looked after extremely well by a young chap called Theo, who was very polite, knowledgeable & attentive. Thank you for looking after us. We will be back.

Harry, Sam, and Leann were absolutely lovely – the kind of people who make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time walking in. Service with a smile (and possibly psychic powers, because they always seemed to appear just when you needed something). As for the food? Outstanding. So good, I considered proposing to the chef – or at least writing them a strongly worded love letter. Every bite was a reminder that happiness can, in fact, be deep-fried or slow-roasted. Honestly, I’ve been trying really hard to find something to complain about – maybe the chairs were too comfortable? Or the portions were too generous? Nope. Can’t find a single fault. 10/10 would eat again (and again… and again).

Brilliant service & amazing food. Our first visit but will definitely be returning as so many things on menu I want to try. Coffee is great. Very clean restaurant

We had a very nice Sunday lunch here, really nice food I would highly recommend it to everyone. starters were great I had the squid calamari very nice and crispy and had a very hefty portion. next the lamb, for my liking the lamb was a little overcooked but not to bad as the roast potatoes were absolutely incredible the best roast potatoes I have ever had Very generous with the gravy you get some on the plate and then another small jug to go with it. once again the desert was immaculate warm brownie with ice cream was very nice. to my surprise the espresso wasn't bad at all obviously not the best I have had but the best from a pub. once again the service was very good and the Christmas decor was very cosy. and lovely

Very Nice place to eat and we sat next to a lovely warm open fire. The food was of good quality and there was plenty of it. I am glad they have a good description about the beef as my Wife does not like Pink at all and they were able to cook hers a little longer to meet her needs. The staff were great and we never had to wait long if we needed anything, there was a good amount of staff to ensure everyone was kept happy. Be careful, if you google the Groes Wen, then you will probably end up with a vintage pub site saying it is closed. Although this will be the first thing shown, it is the wrong site and the Groes Wen are trying to get something done about it. So make sure you use the Ego site which is a few results down the list. The phone number is also wrong, but the ability to book through the ego website is so much easier and you can see availability and book without issue, this does make up for things. Parking is tight, and this is a very busy venue. We arrived early afternoon and one of the first in for the day, by the time we left the car park was full. A great place to eat and meet up with family and friends, food was great and of good quality.

Wow...what a restaurant!!!First time here and won't be last!!! Honestly, I didn't aspect to have a such nice welcome, service and food. Usually you don't get very nice meal from chain restaurants but this one deserves more than one visit!!! Very polite and attentive staff, very nice food with a nice selection on the menu. Very nice decor !!! We visited it for my wife's birthday and she enjoyed too!!! So, we will back soon!!!

We had Sunday dinner as a small group. Chicken was lovely, pork ok, and beef a bit stringy (So I'm told). Roasties were disappointing (not very roasted). Desserts were very nice. Service was very pleasant with good timing between courses and enquiries. Bill was incorrect but rectified with no issues. It's a lovely place but the food could be of a higher standard.
