I do not recommend this store! I bought shoes for my five-year-old daughter from this store two weeks ago. after a week the shoes fell apart. so I wanted to return them with the receipt, the manager said they were too worn... after a week of use by a five-year-old girl... my complaint was not accepted
I purchased a pair of slazenger golf shoes on the 13/08/23 from the Glasgow Fort branch . After wearing 7 x I noticed that they had split on the uppers . Today (14/12/23) I took them back to the branch and asked to speak to the manage who was not available as he was on a conference call. The assistant manager was then asked to deal with me. I explained to her that the shoes were only worn 7 times and as she could see were as new but had split obviously due to a fault. I was told me that I was out with the 28 days return policy but I tried to explain that the shoes were faulty and should have lasted more than 28 days . I was then said if they were they split when I purchased them to which I replied why would I buy shoes that were faulty. She then said they were not faulty when they they left the shop so there was no refund or credit due from them. But a fault can surface after purchasing ie. shoes cracking and not fit for purpose after a few wears. I then asked her for the customer services number to which she replied there is not one; I then asked for the head office number to which she replied there is not one. Eventually she said I should look it up on the web .I then asked for her name as a point of reference for anyone falling up my complaint but she refused to give it -stating she did not have to give her name .I feel that the standard of service and the way my complaint was dealt was fell short of what I would have expected from a national retailer. Needless to say I will not be shopping again in this store or any other store under the Mike Ashley umbrella , and I will be passing on this is my family and friends . Avoid a store that dismisses genuine complaints, has a policy of no refunds and has no point of contact as it seemingly has no head office or customer service. Cliff Stevenson
Today I tried to purchase four framed pictures which were on sale at reduced prices.. when I got to the checkout desk the girl scanned one of the pictures and said the price was £3 higher (£8 instead of £5) than the £5 price on labels. I asked her if she could honour the price advertised but the answer was a no and that "we have to go by price of the scanner". I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been difficult to override the price of the scanner as a good will gesture on this occasion. I don't feel its right to ask a customer to pay for the mistake of the store and also not willing to be flexible in any way for misleading a customer. We are only talking about a few quid. Walked out without purchasing anything was not happy with the misleading prices mistake or not.
I visited this store 2 days ago as my friend's buy amazing stuff from this store so I popped in. Large store with different items such as garden stuff,clothes/branded,handbags,toys etc. Bought a few garden plants which were amazing prices so cheap. Asked a member of staff where the tills were she told me they were at the back were there big sign was and offered to take them upto the tills for me which I thought it was so kind, got upto the tills and was greeted by a pleasant member of staff. I am writing this review as when I was there there was a woman and a man that approached the till beside me and they where buying items and the girl serving them was so pleasant and noticed there was something in a basket I think it was. The girl asked did they want this aswell as this was separate the woman and man was so rude to the girl behind the tills and was very abrupt i was shocked. They want to see the manager and kept being horrible to this girl behind the till but the girl behind the till was amazing and very professional and was doing a great job.the manger come up and explained the same thing the girl had said and they just had a disgusting attitude. This shop is one of the best I've been to and for my first time it was a great experience staff are so helpful and kind can't fault them one bit. Will definitely be back and I will tell all of my friend's about this shop and how great it is.
Service in this store is a disgrace and management don't care. I puchased an item which had something attached to it with no price tag so I thought it was part of my item. TUrned out it wasn't and i had to pay for the other item,I commented that they should not put other items on things with no price tag as it is missleading. The staff member bit back at me and said "it wasn't me that put it there was it" just when I said I beg your pardon she said "my attitiude was wrong". I asked for her manger as I couldn't quite believe she was having a set to with me in the middle of the store. She then proceed to tell me I was getting wound up and that it wasn't her who put the thing In the wrong place. Eh hello honey that's not my problem I am the customer and all I said is it was misleading and you need to be more carefull. Manger didnt care and allowed her to continue to slate me when he spoke to me. I am In shock that any member of staff would enter into a confrontation with a customer. Not to mention the fact I stood for 10 mins waiting to be served while the other 4 staff stood at the bottom of the store chatting.
Hi went into the store today to purchase towels. The towels had the original store ticket on them .I sought out an employee to ask if they were discounted she scanned the ticket and said that's the price that's on them ,I asked fir a manager and explained that the whole shop is advertising up to 70% discount yet the towels I wished to purchase were not ,his reply was if that's what it's scanning at that's the price couldn't care less attitude .
It is a very large and spacious store. There are always members of friendly and staff about who are helpful finding any product you are looking for. They sell a wide range of products from household items to clothing for adults and children as well as electronics. Due to the size of the store it can take a while to find the section you are looking for. I use this shop a lot for men's t- shirts and men's shorts they have a great selection and are very reasonably priced.
