   Went in yesterday to buy new winter hike boots, started off completely wrong but with the help of Nathaniel he informed me of what I actually needed then going boots that fit my feet. And he did loads of tests to make sure they were just right. Went from leather boots to SALEWA MS CROW GTX. Very happy.

   I went to buy a very small item. I asked on the ground floor if they sold the item in question. Oh yes, it’s on the top floor. The young man offered to go up and bring the item to me. I refused. I like to look around, and there’s a lot to see. Half way up another member of staff came to ask if I needed any assistance. I admitted I was going to the top floor, and made the same offer as the first person had. I got the same pleasant welcome when I reached the top. And a personal guide to where the item lurked. I felt I had been treated as if I was spending countless pounds instead of a couple of fivers and a few pence. Each floor of Tiso’s should have their own 5*+ rating.

   The staff here are extremely helpful. I got a pair of Salomons for an upcoming hike in Skye. Nathaniel helped my girlfriend find the perfect pair of hiking boots, too, and even showed us a map of Scotland where he pointed out some solid stops along our path. Highly recommend this store if you’re looking for hiking or camping gear.

   Staff were incredibly friendly. A large shop over 4 floors, with a wide variety of products. Coats were heavily discounted (30-40% off), and picked up some great deals. There's no lift, though, if you needed to take a baby buggy upstairs for example.

   High-end outdoor shop in Central Edinburgh, with limited disabled/ no wheeled access, either up steep doorstep or between the three sales floors. An alternative, accessible shop is available in another part of the city.
