I still dream about Hata porridge from our last trip to Edinburgh. I highly recommend the adorable cafe for its porridge, pastries, and coffee.
The vegan porridge was excellent!!! Staff are very friendly, and the sitting is super cosy and pumpkin spice latte vibes, incl. the background music. So lucky to have had brunch at Hata - the best porridge In Edinburgh (been trying different spots the week we’ve been staying here for a musical festival).
Excellent breakfast place! Cute and cozy decor. We tried filled croissants, porridge and this lovely pistachio cardamom cake. And also, probably the best coffee we had in the whole of Edinburgh!
This review is quite delayed (almost a year, sorry to the nice staff there!). I had a lovely short stop-off at this café for coffee and cake. Their honey cake is really special and seems to be a regular option, so I highly recommend! The staff were friendly and the café is in a really nice spot (a little quieter than some of the more touristy parts).
Very good breakfast and definitely the best Vietnamese latte you can ever try.
Hata is an absolutely amazing cafe! It has such a lovely atmosphere, and the best coffee I’ve found in Edinburgh. The staff are all very kind and helpful, and the cakes can’t be beaten! All of the food is super fresh and tasty, the polish sausage sandwich is a personal favourite. The sofa downstairs is perfect for studying, I will definitely be back soon :)
Absolutely wonderful cafe in Edinburgh! The food is so fresh, unique and delicious! My husband and I are staying nearby in an Airbnb and we’ve been to this cafe twice already! The porridge at breakfast was really the most amazing we’ve ever had! The toppings are so creative and lush! We had sandwiches at lunch today that were gorgeous - the chicken curry sandwich was absolutely stunning! The salads were nice too. I wish I could live next door to this cafe!
Amazing food - the toasties wow! Great chai latte and cake. Only in Edinburgh 2 days and went there on both. Staff are so friendly.
TL;DR - Nice drinks, tasty small dishes, friendly staff and cool vibes. Very limited seating! There is a good selection of drinks, with some more unusual options on top of the usual coffee shop fare. There's a nice selection of tasty cakes to choose from too, as well as porridges, sandwiches and other small dishes. The coffee was great, and the sandwiches delicious. The honey cake was lovely too. Prices were okay - sandwich a little expensive perhaps, but nothing excessive. Inside there are only a couple of tables, so probably worth booking ahead or taking away. The interior has a pleasant, cosy and stylish vibe, surrounded by indoor plants. There's a shelf with some items for sale too including coffee, bamboo products, mugs etc. The staff were friendly and attentative and added to the overall experience.
