Great spot. We loved the history. The food was delicious. I had the garlic chicken schnitzel and it was great.

One of the places that you must visit while visiting Edinburgh and enjoying some historical small events. They are not offering special food or drinks, but the ambiance makes it special. Enjoy your time with friends in this place.

Had a good meal here! Of course had the haggis and got the loaded chips. Got the appetizer size of both and it was definitely enough food. Both were very good. Staff was great, gave me tasters of beer before I ordered one. It's a busy place but we got a table straight away and food comes out quickly. Great place for good traditional Scottish food.

Visited July 2025 Had the starter Haggis Neep Tatties to see what Scottish food is about (not my kind of food sorry) Bacon and cheese burger though was excellent. Temperature on the pattie was on point with a good sear. Fries were crispy outside and fluffy inside. Overall a great spot for pub crawlers

We were struggling to find a place to eat that also had a good Scottish pub vibe and The Last Drop was perfect. The servers were so courteous and accommodating. Of all we ate I have to strenuously recommend the Sticky Chicken starter. Absolutely heavenly.

Cool restaurant. The manager Gabriel was extremely funny although could be perceived as a bit much at times. Take it with a grain of salt it's all just banter. Food was affordable and had good portions. Lost a star due to taste though unfortunately the whiskey sauce was super bland which is a shame as the sauce is usually a backbone of most dishes. Definitely still worth a visit though!

Amazing restaurant that offers classic scottish and british food. If you’re coming in the evening it’s better to have a reservation. Haggis is a must try, unusual taste but interesting. Sticky toffee pudding is absolutely delicious!

The bartender was very friendly, the beer list was a little limited compared to other nicholsons. The inside of the pub is rather small, the menu is very limited compared to most nicholsons. The bathroom is very small you almost have to sit on the toilet to even close the door. The soup I got was scotch broth, it came out hot, but was disappointing. I got the cider on tap, and a 10 year scotch whisky which were both good. I'd rather go to other pubs than this one, given the limited food menu

Lovely, bustling old fashioned pub with friendly staff. I had a pint of Stewart's Jack Back which was excellent. My wife had a Mortimer's Orchard Cider, which she loved. Beers are around £5 a pint. We didn't eat, but the food looked good. Lots of people were ordering the burgers.
