   I want to start by saying the team here genuinely made a Christmas miracle happen. I went into the store to collect my son’s bike for Christmas, only to realise I had accidentally ordered it for Saturday the 27th — after Christmas. As you can imagine, I had well and truly messed up and was firmly in the bad books with my wife. Despite this being completely my mistake, the bike team absolutely came through. They went above and beyond by sourcing the bike from another store, bringing it in, and building it the very next day. Because of their effort, my son will have his bike on Christmas morning. Outstanding customer service, genuine care, and a team that clearly takes pride in what they do. I can’t thank them enough — a real Christmas miracle.

   Fair play to them. I ordered a stereo online and found it cheaper elsewhere. They did a price match without any issue. Very easy process, friendly staff. Tried phoning the contact centre and the options just drive you mad (see what I did) .. it was easier to drive to store

   Ordered a catalytic conventor cleaner, click and collect. When I got to the store there had been a mistake and the item was sold out. Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful and gave me a different but larger replacement item for the same price. Excellent customer service and fingers crossed it works as well as the original item.

   Where to start ?? Becoming more and more disappointed in this once very good brand. If you want a push bike or a tent or something to clean them then Halfords has you pretty much covered I guess. If it's car related forget it. If it's tools related you'll be fortunate to walk in and find what you need. I needed a set of spark plugs for a Peugeot, you'd think I'd asked for some angel dust or a hens tooth. We don't stock spark plugs any more but you can order them in and collect them when they arrive. As live 25 miles from my nearest Halfords since the one in Galashiels was closed popping in whilst passing is not really likely to happen. The assistant couldn't even find the right plug on the in-store system so told me to go online and order on my own computer. I joined the Halfords motoring club thing a few years ago. They still don't have any membership card or app and speaking to the staff about that point was met with shrugged shoulders and throw away lines such as 'Thats Halfords for you' In the stone age regarding technical advancement and customer experience. Back to car related items they can no longer identify the paint colour like they used to with the reference book so unless you have the paint code with you you're once again left wanting. Not ideal for a casual pop in while the other half is in Next Iceland for a mooch. I shall be looking at Amazon from now on where everything is available and free next day delivery and most likely cheaper. Get your act together Halfords or don't promote yourselves as an auto shop and stick to selling overpriced push bikes.

   Looking for 'car mats' but were not in stock for my car. Ordered in store and was told they would take 10days. On the 11day attempted to contact store but was put through to customer care. They told me that they would be in store next day. Visited store 2 days later but mats not in store. Told salesman what customer care had said but was told ' o they don't even look at the system. Just tell you anything. They are in Africa and don't know what's going on'. He offered to 'phone up the factory who make carpets. I cancelled the order and he apparently made a card transaction refund. Two days later still waiting for refund to go back in my account. No wonder local shops are closing down and people order through on line companies.

   nice bike bought for Christmas. Paid to have it made up as I have no idea how to build up a bike. Had it collected from store and on Christmas morning after Santa had been, granddaughter tried to lift bike. Handlebars came right out of frame! Been to shop today. No apology but told how to sort this or bring to shop. I have a small car so this is impossible. Assistant said I could buy Allan keys and use number 6 key. I could buy from shelf over there!! I got her to show me exactly what needed to be done on another bike. Hope this works. Not impressed by customer service at all. Oh and must have been as an after thought, she gave me a set of the keys.

   Fast efficient service, pleasant staff, store was very clean and well organised. Significantly larger selection of cycles and cycling equipment since my last visit. Stock levels were good for the items I wanted. Prices seemed reasonable, if anything lower than pre covid on cycling lights and helmets. Liked that they had varying levels of children's helmets from occasional to serious use.

   Great shop and with a wide range of motoring and cycling products. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is probably anything you need and the prices are decent. I'm giving 4 stars for now because I haven't tried their services. I'll update when I get the chance.
