WOW. We came across this place one hungry night and stepped in knowing very little about what to expect. The service and the food then proceeded to blow us away. In particular, our server recommended the pâté as a must not miss and he was *not* kidding. It was sublime and served with 2 slices of buttery brioche toast, and I'm still thinking about that dish weeks later. We also had a beet salad, a steak dish, and each dish was top notch. The server was charming, funny, and helpful- everything we needed after a tough day. We will definitely be back.

5 star restaurant in central Edinburgh. Our local friends love the food and service here. Hubby and I ordered the Dry-aged Perthshire sirloin for two. Delicious coupled with potato and green beans. Our table also ordered dessert, the star for me was the Dark chocolate delice, pistachio, black cherry. Service and atmosphere met the food. A definite comeback and referral when in Edinburgh.

The Broughton was suggested to us by a local who works at Johnny Walker. The food was the best food we've had in 2 years. Dean waited on us with great care. He provided us with fantastic recommendations. The duck and venison were cooked to perfection. Masterful work by the chef.

Got a table by chance - we didn't even know that this place is on the Michelin list! We had the roast beef and fish and chips, both were delicious. The roast beef is medium rare, perfectly cooked. The chips was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Shout out to the homemade lemonade - sweet, tart, fizzy and zingy. Will definitely visit again but probably should reserve ahead...

Exceptional service, atmosphere, and food. We ordered the heirloom tomato salad to start, which is one of the best tomato salads I’ve ever had in my life. My wife is a vegetarian and ordered the Caesar salad, the flatbread, and chips, all of which were excellent - I had some of the Caesar and chips (of course!). I had the pork as my main, which is one of the top 3 (in no specific order) pork mains I’ve ever had (along with Katsu in Tokyo, and a pork mains from Published in Vancouver). My brother recently visited on a Sunday and had the roast, which he said was exceptional. You must go if you live in or are visiting Edinburgh!

Fabulous food, drink selection, atmosphere and very efficient staff. Must go back soon to sample the rest of the menu.

The beef we ate was very very good. The Spain red wine is perfect. Haddock is reasonably okay. Portion is not big but no complaints

Can't fault the food, delicious starters - tomato salad and salmon , then haddock with poached egg, selection of ice creams for dessert and a cheese platter. A friend had booked this for the set menu, and a couple of items on the menu were already unavailable at 7pm - notably no alternative was offered from the wider menu, but when a request was made it was agreed they could provide other dishes although supplements were applied for the more expensive dishes. Service was a little slow and erratic, but knowing that so many restaurants are short staffed at the moment, I wouldn't put off returning but next time we go it'll be for the full menu to enjoy more of the choice available.

I went here for the first time the other day. Friendly, helpful staff great food and good value for money. Fully intend going back to try Sunday Roast.
