Visited here for food and drinks, I'm Dairy Free and Noticed the Menu has Dairy Free Options. Given the Dairy Free wasn't as well laid out on the menu as the Gluten Free / Vegan options, but the barman was extremely helpful, he was very knowledgeable but double checked with the Chef just to make sure which I appreciated that my allergy was taken seriously. I had the Chef Special Pie, Bacon mash and Veg, and it's something I can never have working away as it's always got milk but this recipe was milk free. I must say, the food was absolutely delicious, I finished the lot which is rare for me. Food arrived pretty quickly too, it was fresh and well presented. I would absolutely definitely visit here again. Thankyou so much !

The staff was not nice and frankly quite rude, I ve asked for a drink they gave me a very full glass of cider (6.50£) being the room so full I would have spill it on me or the floor so I ve asked if please they could remove a tiny bit so to be able to hold the drink, answer from the staff “who asks that?where are you from?” (I’m not Scottish, quite rude in the tone it was asked) with the girl who initially served me passing by rolling her eyes, it was a very easy and polite request to which I felt judge and I had to justify myself It take so little to make people feel welcome, and in this particular case I wasn’t

We used to visit years ago but this was our first time in around 5 years. We had a voucher and we enjoyed a main meal and a dessert. The spicy chicken burger was especially tasty, lots of flavour, generous chicken thigh with a good amount of salad, not too salty, and the fries were light and crispy too. Service was very considerate and friendly. Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon!

A good pub with an empathise on getting the basics right rather than developing a quirky character or gimmick. There's a solid choice of beer, but perhaps light on indie and craft ranges. Interestingly, there's a good range of cider too. There's wine but given the name and the nod to the brewery it's not a surprise that the Caley is a beer first pub. The best thing about the food is the portion size. You can imagine the football crowds coming here with big appetites. The quality is good enough, to! The wild card is the atmosphere and crowd. You can walk into a nearly empty dining hall and rattle around by yourself. On a football day, you might not even get the doors to open all way before you meet someone. I think the Sample Room is a safe pair of hands. I'll happily eat here if I'm in the area but I won't come to the area just for the Caley.

Would really recommend for locals and tourists! We had a super great time here, the food was excellent - especially the sweet potato fries, they where amazing! My mom had the sausage and mash and she said it was some of the best mash she ever had, soft and creamy. We had some great ales with our dinner although they had a great selection of wines, beers and whiskeys. We did make a reservation to sit in a booth which was great and comfortable and near the window. The bathrooms where clean and really nice. Would definitely recommend.

Was in on Friday with a large group and was surprised at how good and swift the service and food were. Have been places in large groups before to eat where it has been a bit disjointed with long waits and missing items but it looks and feels like a tightly run ship in here. The steak melted in my mouth and the fish and chips looked amazing. A great meal enjoyed by all and very reasonably priced, will definitely be back.

Very pleased to see the Caley Sample Room re-open, now run by the excellent team from Diggers down the road. This is an excellent pub, with a rotating range of interesting beers, friendly staff, good quality pub food - and they're dog-friendly!

We live right around the corner and were so happy to see the Caley Sample Room open for business again! Such a warm and welcoming space with a great atmosphere for family and friends. Great selection of taps, gin, and whisky and amazing chips! All served fresh and at a great price. Such lovely staff as well and really fun pub quiz nights. So happy to have our lovely local pub again

Really nice place, relaxed and chilled. I suppose in normal times it's very busy and a bit more life. As it's COVID times there is table service. Really lovely seafood tagliatelle and steak pie.
