   I attended Bupa Dental Care Prestonfield on 16 December 2025 for a single filling on an upper premolar. During the visit, a foam-like material, possibly containing anesthesia, was placed under my gum without explanation. I was not aware it had been left in my mouth due to complete numbness and only noticed it at home two hours later. Leaving such material in the mouth while numb felt unsafe and posed a potential health risk. The upper premolar filling was poorly matched, rough, and badly finished. Additionally, filing on a lower tooth caused damage and chipping to an adjacent healthy canine, and a filling was placed there without my consent. I left with a botch job and permanent damage, and I have filed a formal complaint. I wasn't impress with Trisha and the service was poor and uncaring. I cannot recommend

   So pleased I made the switch here, staff was really friendly and sorted my claim for me during the appointment. The dental hygienist was much gentler than I am used to. My colleague recently had an appointment here also and had nothing but good things to say too.

   A well informed team of professional behind the reception desk helped me not only register but also schedule a visit for general check up within a week. My experience at this practice is very positive and am satisfied with the level of expertise the employed (operating denstist preserves). I would strongly recommend them for both NHS and Private dental treatment.

   Fantastic service and great care. Joachim Gruber is brilliant with my kids as well as providing excellent care to me too - the hygienist, Patricia Steele, also works miracles removing staining and gives really knowledgeable advice. Always a warm welcome from reception staff too. Highly recommend this practice!

   Great customer / patient experience! For someone that has grown up dreading the dentist, it has become a pleasure to go to the dentist! Professional/fun team! The team at Bupa Dental Care Prestonfield, demonstrate some of the best customer / patient experience I have seen. The team's friendly, patient focused care is fantastic. They make the process seamless and are always very supportive whether it is just a routine check up or issues with having to change dates last minute. Marion leads a fantastic team, and while it is unfair single out anyone Shannon is always there with a smile and an explanation of what is required procedurally. Above and beyond! Bupa Dental care have always employed some of the best dentists and even when I lived in London for 15 years I continued to come back to Prestonfield for my treatment. My current dentist, Ioannis is no exception. His patient care is superb. I always get a bit nervous at the dentist and find that distracting myself with humming helps. On my last visit he hummed some Handel while I worked to distract me! what dentist does that..!! Always impressed and grateful! :)

   Emergency extraction. A big thank you to the desk staff and Dr Gruber for the prompt care my wife recieved on Wednesday. A painful tooth was quickly removed, which was an instant relief. Well done team.

   I don't like leaving bad reviews but I'd recommend finding a different dentist.. you won't be able to reach them on the phone, need to request a callback online, the rooms are tiny and the quality of care I got was substandard... I expect more when paying full private prices you know, didn't even get a cup of water to rinse without asking for it

   Never had a filling in my life or any corrective works… went here and told I need 5. Left to thinking it over, booked again and asked for a different dentist to afford me a second opinion and was given the same guy. Identified myself as saying I had not wanted to be seeing him and to see someone else. Was told no one else could be seen. Told I had to pay for the second visit even though I told them at the start which lead to me feeling pressured into allowing the work as they where insisting payment. Seems like they work on a commission structure and need to get as many fillings per client. Allowed the work to go ahead. Had issues ever since with the work actioned by them and had no issues before. Seen another dentist and hygienist over the years since the work and their first comments on the work were “very rough cast fillings”. Don’t know the dentists name, but he identified as German. Do not recommend.
