A wonderful independent cafe between fashionable Finnieston, and Kelvingrove, just across from the world famous gallery, where locals and tourists, younger and older, happily mingle. The proprietor and staff are much loved in the community for their wit and genuine warmth. The coffee is consistently excellent and the small, menu great for a wee breakfast, coffee break or light lunch. I would say the foodie highlight are the delicious home made cakes.

A very cozy coffee shop with friendly people and good coffee and a pastry selection. There is a room in back with additional seating.

Really lovely cafΓ© in Glasgow. Hugh was super kind and gentle β totally made my day. I had an oat flat white, and it was so good. Definitely coming back, and Iβd recommend this place to anyone!

Wonderful coffee shop! We had some breakfast and a coffee before spending the day in Glasgow. Food was delicious, coffee was great. The barista was, very in contrast to the name of the shop, very friendly. Atmosphere was overall very relaxed and pleasant!

Came to try the coffee due to the high reviews but was utterly disappointed. The Flat White tasted like a latte without much flavor. Even the latte art was sad looking. Maybe weβre just fussy with our coffee. Probably more a place for breakfast & snack than a coffee cafe.

Place has high reviews. It is small, the coffee is ok (we've had better in Glasgow). The barista was not at all grumpy βΊοΈ.

I'm happy that the grumpy barista is not the barista anymore, because I have no words to describe how kind and cheerful the owner was!! The coffee was great, the food super fresh (and heated a bit in an oven, thanks so much for not using microwaves) and the place was lovely and cozy. This was one of the highlights of our stay in Glasgow, especially for the lovely treat that we got while leaving and the nice and warm talks with the owner. Would love to go for coffee here again!!!

This is such a warm and friendly coffee shop. The staff make you feel welcome. There is an excellent choice of sandwiches, crossiants and paninis. The cakes are sublime. Nothing is too much bother. Such a great place to sit down and let the time pass you by. Highly recommend.

One of the joys of travel for me is finding the best coffee shop in town. Welcome to the Grumpy Barista! The lattes are just right, the espresso is not overwhelmed in milk. Also, donβt be fooled by the name; I was welcomed like a neighborhood friend into the cozy space. Treat yourself friends, when in Glasgow. Itβs work the walk, bus, metro or taxi!

Friendly staff, nice coffee and food. Two coffees and two savoury snacks (crossaint and bruschetta) were ~Β£14. Quite small, they had to turn away a family with a child stroller because there wasn't enough space for it but they were very apologetic about it. Would happily go again.
