scam alert!! got to the till and the actual cost is twice the ticket price, seems you need to be a (paid)club member to pay the advertised price. probably some small print somewhere but shameful way to run a business.
Shameful store manager (tall man who refused to give me his first name, but was there on Sunday, November 9th around 2:00pm) with absolutely no customer service experience nor tact or professionalism. Tried to exchange a pair of shoes and that were clearly not worn outside and he refused to accept the exchange as said they were "secondhand". I asked for his first name (not surname) and he said because of GDPR laws he doesn't have to give me his name. Shameful that Go Outdoors employs people without a basic level of training on how to deal with customers.
I bought a pair of shoes two months ago, and I went to ask if there was a possibility of an exchange because the stitching on the side had come undone. They were very attentive and helpful. The product variety is also quite good. Many thanks to the entire sales and exchange team for being friendly and supportive.
NOT a review of the Kingston branch β this concerns the Go Outdoors Online Store. Due to a frustrating lack of an online review platform for Go Outdoors' website, Iβm leaving my experience here as it indirectly involved the Kingston store, where I ended up going to replace missing items from a failed online delivery. Summary: I ordered several camping items online β most importantly, a 4-person tent β for delivery by Friday, 11 August. When the delivery finally arrived, it was incomplete: the tent was missing, and the delivery team was unprofessional and unhelpful. One person was loudly shouting on the phone outside my house while the others told me the tent wouldnβt arrive until the following Monday β too late for my planned camping trip. Given the circumstances, I told the delivery team to cancel the order and immediately went to the Kingston store, where staff kindly helped me source the same tent, allowing the trip to go ahead as planned. The real issue began afterward. Despite multiple emails (nearly 20 over a 2-month period), including submitting an investigation form and receiving two written confirmations that a full refund would be processed, the money was never returned. After further chasing, I finally received a curt email stating that the refund would not be issued, without any proper explanation, and was simply told to contact my bank instead. In total: Delivery failed to meet the agreed timeline I received contradictory and inconsistent information from customer service Despite written confirmation of a refund, the company did not follow through Ultimately, I had to escalate the matter through my bank This experience has been time-consuming, disappointing, and reflects extremely poor customer service from the online side of Go Outdoors. While the Kingston branch staff were excellent, I strongly caution others when ordering from their website.

Great outdoor shop. Doesn't look large from the outside but it's huge actually. Everything for a one day hike to some serious multi day tracking stuff. Mix of cheaper and expensive brands
Great service, was upsold the Members card by a young lad with some cool arm tattoos (I did ask his name but promptly forgot), saving me about 15% on my order. Would go again, if this is the standard.
Very disappointed. I placed an order for one fishing rod and they send me totally different item. So I said OK mistakes happen so I order again and guess what 2nd time totally wrong item again. I just waisted money on delivery. Indelible.
Go outdoors has delayed my package for over a month and then sends me a discount code of 50% off for my inconvenience that I can't really use. Over 70% of your items are on sale which I can not purchase. Go outdoors did not state any terms and condition when sending me the code, I have been looking forward to all the items I could have purchased from you which would have been a great outdoors family adventure with my kids. Now I would not be able to afford the items you have restricted me to choose from. I hope go outdoors is happy with the false promises that you have lead me and my family to believe. TLDR: An REI/MEC style Membership CO-op This is based off a December 2022 Visit. The store does require a membership account for purchase at the better prices. Generally, it makes sense to buy a membership when you go into make a purchase if you don't already have one. I believe membership's are shareable but I cannot confirm.Membership is valid for one year from the date of purchase. The store is full of anything an outdoor enthusiast may want.Outdoors activities like camping,hiking,snowshoeing,ice climbing,kayaking,fishing are all catered to from this store. If you know someone who likes the outdoors, they will already know about this store, or fall in love with it. The staff were all polite,pleasant and helpful. More importantly,they are knowledgeable and can make the correct recommendations based on conversations with members/customers. This is how a Co-Op and really every store should be.
