We came here today for the first time searching for a Sunday roast, we were welcomed by staff and taken to our table. Menu was simple, easy, and good veggie options. Food was everything I wanted, homy and delicious. There is obviously room for improvement, but for the price, it's worth it. The browie was pure perfection, definitely the best I had in a very long time. I will be a returning customer. Thank you for a kind, friendly, and joyful service.

One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had! A plate full of vegetables, including Yorkshire pudding, good gravy, mini-potatoes and lots more. Three options for the roast plate, I chose the Wellington. I've also enjoyed the cheeseburger and chips. Very good beer selection, including local Deya and other regional beers, besides international ones. Almost all of the beers and ciders are vegan. A creative cocktail menu also. Pleasant service.

It is so great to have this classic pub but vegan! Everything we hade were delicious. We tried the Sunday roast (on Sunday) and the fish and chips and hot sauce cauliflower (on Friday). Notice every day they have a different menu (depends on the day). They have this great variety of beers, and the atmosphere is super fun. Can't recommend enough.

I was in The Old Bookshop on Tuesday (25th October) with my husband to enjoy a pint and a curry from Naasto Baasto as we'd previously enjoyed the food when it was being served at another location. The food was tasty, albeit the portions were small. The beer was also good. My only issue is that we asked for the Tiffin Tuesday deal, which from the menu on their blackboard and print out seems to be available in the evening, along with the rest of the evening menu. However the man behind the bar said it was only available during lunch. Can quite clearly see that the Tiffin Tuesday is supposed to be available all evening. A bit unclear really. Hopefully just a misunderstanding but after checking the menu a few times I did feel a misled

I have upgraded my original 4* review to 5*. The Bookshop was always a good pub, but since it has changed ownership it has gone from strength to strength. The drink selection is crazily good, with lots of craft beers and ciders that you wouldn't normally find elsewhere. It's dog friendly and the staff are lovely. For such a small pub they've done really well to make it more spacious inside. Love the atmosphere of this place, good decor, music and vibe.

Had an amazing time at The Old Bookshop while visiting Bristol. A great, buzzing atmosphere as soon as you come off the street. If you can't get a seated table, there are standing tables near the bar which is a nice touch Loved the quirky artwork on the walls and pictures. I've always been a big fan of German beers in particular wheat beers - and this is a great place to come, if this is your thing. One of the best selections in the UK I've seen. The Jacob on draft was delicious, along with the usual German classics (see the Augustiner in the photos). All of this was complemented by the delicious vegan tapas-style dishes. I don't always eat vegan cuisine when I go out but I guarantee even meat eaters would enjoy this feast. The staff were very friendly and the clientele just generally very pleasant. I'll definitely be back to visit The Old Bookshop next time I'm back.
