Website says books are stocked but none in store. Staff said lots of people have been asking for this certain book and don't think to order any?!? Place was a mess too, trolleys everywhere and different books stacked on top of each other. Won't waste my time here again.

Prices at WHSmith seem to never compete with comparable businesses, their snack and drink options are constantly overpriced with strange multibuy promos than only make the products a slightly more easy to swallow cost. The stationary and games prices also fail to be competitive with bricks and mortar specialists and online retailers. Disappointing that such a long standing shop has sunk so much in my expectations. I also have heard stories of their aggressive sales training giving to till staff which also seems excessive and anti-customer/employee happiness.

Not good, I was informed my order was waiting for collection from an online customer sales coordinator, when I travelled to the store, after waiting 20 minutes, I was informed the item hadn't arrived and that it MIGHT be in next week :(

Really great Customer Service yesterday. I read the price wrong but the manager honoured it as he recognised it was confusing. Picked up some great Christmas presents.

Staff can't be bothered to serve and would prefer you to use the self service tills. Self service till does not seem to recognise "3 for 2" offers and there are no plastic bags available after you've been charged for one.

Good customer service. Very confusing pricing. There's a 4 for 3 and a 3 for 2, everything was jumbled up, so we had to hazard a guess. None of them items were over a few pounds, the salesperson was understanding as to the confusion and was just as confused himself. We got the cheapest 1 free so it worked out. It could have taken forever. You know how kids are particular about their going back to school stationary. Selection of the items sold here is extensive with a good range of options. I can go in here with more certainty/confidence that the items I require will be sold here. However, I find the shop more expensive. There are other shops in the same centre selling the same or very similar products at a far cheaper price. Look around before purchase. Good stock though, sturdy and lasts long.

Has a really diverse set of products and even had self service terminals but the birthday cards were a right rip off. £3 for an a4 piece of card folded over is not fair in my personal opinion. If you have a big family you would get fleeced.

Barely any WH Smiths in Edinburgh yet there are two in the Gyle! This one is a stand alone book shop with the larger Smiths (which also sells books) a few feet further along. With online shops I often don't think to look here for books but they always have some sort of promotion on and there are bargains (particularly cookery and other hard back books) to be had. Good for a browse.
