Nice Short building. Breakfast is enjoyable with lots of options and you get to make your own waffle (its not that big). Nice location on the centre of the city. Around are some famous landmarks like Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. Pool is not long but can be enjoyable. Children under 16s are not permitted to use the jacuzzi/spa and sauna.

What did I like? We stayed at the Novotel Edinburgh Centre for 4 nights over Christmas with our family, and overall we had a very pleasant experience. The location was absolutely wonderful – right in the heart of the city, with all the main Edinburgh attractions within easy walking distance. We didn't need to use taxis or buses at all, which made getting around so convenient and stress-free. The breakfast was amazing: a great variety of hot and cold options, everything tasted fresh and delicious, and the restaurant area was always spotlessly clean. The room was spacious enough for our family, spotlessly clean on arrival, and the daily housekeeping service was efficient and thorough without ever being intrusive. Check-in and check-out were smooth overall, though check-in took a bit longer than usual due to the busy Christmas period – completely understandable. Most importantly, the staff were outstanding: genuinely friendly, supportive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had a good stay. The hotel also has a pool and jacuzzi, which was a nice bonus facility to have available. What could be improved? There were a few aspects of the room and leisure facilities that could be better. In our room, the toilet was separate from the main bathroom but unusually did not have its own sink – the space was very cramped and poorly ventilated, and having to leave the toilet cubicle to wash hands in the main bathroom area was quite inconvenient. There was also no toilet brush provided. Regarding the pool, while it's great that the hotel offers one, the small size and shallow depth seemed to require heavy daily chlorination, which caused noticeable eye and throat irritation for us. More concerning was the lack of supervision: there were no clear rules enforced about showering before entry or wearing proper swimwear, and unfortunately this led to my wife developing a urinary tract infection after the second day, meaning she couldn't use the pool again. The jacuzzi water didn't feel particularly clean, and the sauna was not hot enough to be effective. Overall Despite a few shortcomings with the bathroom layout and pool maintenance, the Novotel Edinburgh Centre's excellent central location, tasty breakfast, friendly staff, and clean comfortable rooms made for a lovely family Christmas stay in Edinburgh.

Overall service in this hotel is marvelous. Smooth check in, generous upgrade, good location, good hospitality of all the staffs especially the breakfast team Magda, Ackthan, Suraj. One that may be improve is the variety of the breakfast menu, we stayed for 5 nights and so bored of the choice of the foods

We enjoyed our stay at Novotel Edinburgh, staff were welcoming and made check in and out very simple and quick. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the hotels breakfast buffet and made use of the swimming pool, don’t be fooled the pool is freezing cold! The changing rooms are very small so come down prepared, still enjoyable nonetheless. The wifi was very poor as well as phone signal (not the hotels fault) if reliant on wifi this may be a problem for you, wasn’t too much of an issue for us. The room was really nice and a good size, the bed was comfy, the hotel was in a nice spot which wasn’t loud at night. The room was very clean, the only negative we found was the tv in the bedroom. It is a smart tv but none of the smart features worked, so you could only watch a few of the free view channels. Finally, parking is crazy expensive! We stayed two nights and paid £36, parking was extremely secure and safe. But we would have rather parked elsewhere for considerably less. We had a lovely time however and would definitely recommend the hotel and we would stay again.

Excellent hotel. We stayed in an executive room after a free upgrade which was dreamy. The rooms were clean and bright, though there's some light staining on some of the carpet. Nothing too bad, probably just needs a refresh. Showers were amazing, and the bed was super comfortable. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. It's about a 5/10 min walk to Victoria Street, so about 10/15 to the Royal Mile. Overall - fantastic for a stay in Edinburgh.

The pool was nice. Unfortunately the sauna and steam room were not working when we were there so that needed to be improved. The thing that really let the leisure facilities down was the size of the changing rooms! There is no space to swing a cat, and the door opens directly onto the corridor, so privacy leaves a little to be desired. To be fair, not much that can be done it is just poorly designed, but be aware. Still overall a good hotel in a great location.

Our stay was fantastic, the hotel is in a great location just a few minutes walk from grassmarket. The hotel was clean and very quiet, I’ve never had a better sleep in a hotel. Our room spacious and well maintained. The staff were all really friendly and accommodating. The pool was great. Having a swim and sauna after a long day sightseeing was perfect.

Loved our stay here.. reception staff were excellent and very friendly esp Martin and Sandra.. well placed to walk to old town and new. Food was really nice, and chef was very helpful with any requests. Only negatives for us in the executive room were the mirrored shower that you could see straight through .. too many mirrors !! Hotel was rather warm as well so kept our room windows open. Would definitely go back though . Love Edinburgh

The hotel is very nicely furnished. The room was lovely. The lobby and breakfast area are very spacious and clean. However, what made my stay unforgettable was the reception staff. Particularly evening front desk team; Sandra and Martin, were amazing. Very helpful, open, friendly, and professional people. Their service was top-class and 5-star hotel worthy!
