What an excellent place to get seafood tapas. The croquettes were very tasty. Sardines, scallops and skate wing were all cooked to perfection. The wild red prawns were to die for. Everything was fresh and full of umami flavour! The only let down was the octopus. Although it’s tender, it lacked flavour. We’re lucky to get a table as we walked in before 6pm. Would highly recommend Gambas to anyone who likes seafood!

I came to Gambas to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had a reservation, but we arrived an hour earlier than planned. The staff were all very polite and professional, and they kindly arranged a table for us right away. The menu isn’t particularly extensive, but I think that’s because the restaurant focuses on quality — the food was very fresh and delicious. They even have a kids’ menu, which is a big plus! There are also daily chef’s specials. Since it was our first visit, we asked the staff for their recommendations, and they took the time to explain everything in detail. We were very satisfied with what we ordered in the end. I especially want to thank Gambas for their thoughtfulness — they found out it was my wife’s birthday and surprised us with a complimentary Pelipal tapas and two glasses of white wine. At the end of the meal, they even gave my wife a box of chocolates as a thank-you gift. Although we had to drive two hours to get to this restaurant, the food quality, service, and atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. It was a wonderful surprise, and we’ll definitely come back again in the future. Highly recommended!

We booked the private dining room at Gambas for my daughters 19th surprise birthday celebrations. The restaurant were very very helpful organising the event as my daughter has dietary requirements and we wanted the surprise element too. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was absolutely lovely and the staff were really helpful and had great vibes! We will definitely be booked the private dining experience again at Gambas. Many thanks to everyone there

My foodie friend was visiting and I booked Gambas as she loves tapas. The food was amazing, really delicious and every dish was piping hot! She kept commenting throughout the evening about how great the food was, the tasty cherry sangria and the brilliant service and the following morning said she woke up thinking about the dishes. Safe to say it was a big hit and she said she'll be back!! My husband saw our photos and now wants to book a date night!

Simply put, one of the best restaurants my partner or I have ever been to. The food was phenomenal, the prawn tortita was unlike anything else I've ever had, the prawns were massive and melt in the mouth and the octopus was beautifully cooked. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, recommending us a similar dish to the one we wanted which was finished (we dined late in the day so this was to be expected.) This ended up being one of our favourite parts of the entire meal. We didn't think we'd have room for dessert but we couldn't leave without one given the quality of our dinner and thank God we did because the chocolate mousse was a thing of absolute beauty. The vibe of the place is wonderful and intimate, watching the chefs cook while you wait for dinner really gets you ready for your food! Dinner came to under £100 Inc. service charge, 8 plates of tapas, an alcoholic drink each and dessert which we found to be incredibly reasonable. I'd come back to Bristol just to eat here. Don't miss it.

Tiny venue but with atmosphere, even mid-afternoon. It can be crowded at peak times. Staff was super helpful and accommodated two people in the window seats with all the food. Good variety of Spanish tapas and wines, some of them a little pricey but probably some of it is due to the location.

If you have allergies or preferences, the servers make great recommendations and do their best to accommodate. Those little fish and oil are such a crowd pleaser! we enjoyed the fresh oysters and all the other dishes, but from the things we ordered it was all about the fish! of course the shrimp were amazing! We almost missed out on the octopus salad, but glad that it came along anyway! It’s a great spot to have a catch-up with friends.

A charming bar in Bristol. Very good experience dining here for lunch. Their small plate dishes were all amazing. Seafood mostly. Their wine selection is also good. Attentive and accomodating staff. Service was fast and efficient. Price and quality ratio is very good.

Great lunch. Food was lovely and relaxed atmosphere. 7 dishes, desserts and alcohol came to £50 a head so great cost considering the quality of food and service.
