   Beautiful, historical hotel with fireplace to sit by. Room was nice with a comfortable bed and updated bathroom. Staff was exceptional; they were truly welcoming and were the best part of our stay. Hotel was not within walking distance of the old town but a £10-13 cab ride got you there in about 10 minutes. Restaurant was good but be prepared to dress up a little. We hit a home run when we chose this hotel for our stay. Stay Golden

Every detail, from the lush surroundings to the refined interiors, exudes sophistication and comfort. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was the outstanding service from every member of the team. Ramoe kindly greeted us and took care of our bags the moment we arrived, setting the tone for the rest of our stay. Emma graciously showed us to our room, ensuring every detail was perfect and that we had everything we needed. And on our departure day, Joaquin went above and beyond — preparing fresh coffee at 4 a.m. and even giving us a brief tour of the quiet estate while we waited for our cab to the airport. Each interaction felt genuine and thoughtful, making us feel not just welcomed but truly cared for. This wasn’t just a stay — it was an experience that captured the essence of luxury and hospitality. We left feeling completely pampered and already dreaming of our return.

   One trip has put this spot at the top of our permanent vacation spot. This hotel is absolutely above and beyond and well deserving of its 5 stars. From the moment you pull on the grounds you’re greeted with the most incredible service that pair right along with the breathtaking grounds and estate. Everyone on staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful day and night. We felt catered to in every way. The hotel itself is literally beyond description and something you cannot come to Scotland without experiencing. We even canceled plans after arriving just to have more time to enjoy all it had to offer. There’s nothing and no one here not absolutely deserving of its Michelin status. We cannot wait to come back again.

   I can hardly describe how good our experience was here. We felt welcome and treated with such kindness and respect. Even as poorer students/tourists, we were not once made to feel like that and the experience made us feel almost like royalty. The atmosphere in the building was relaxing and the quality of the food, tea and drinks was amazing. We will definitely come back in the future.

   I love this place! The staff are beyond wonderful, kind, and friendly. The house is magical, clean, cozy, and the decor is beautiful. One can really see the attention to detail. And the food is delicious: Scottish ingredients, fresh produce, beautifully presented, clean tastes. The cocktails and wines are also exquisite.

   This is a remarkable one-off, luxury hotel with a (deservedly) much praised restaurant. Set in parkland near the centre of Edinburgh, the old stone house exudes history and charm. The welcoming and impeccable staff treat all as honoured guests. Only the peacocks look superior! This is where to come for a special celebration like my wife’s big birthday. The food and service are excellent- we had the afternoon tea for 8 in the gorgeous Italian room. Tasty little savouries, elegant sandwiches, seriously light scones and rich indulgent wee cakes. And of course doggy boxes, as there were inevitable leftovers. And did I mention the 20+ teas, my favourite is the Lazy Summer Afternoon. We didn’t leave until after 6.30

   Beautiful hotel with stunning grounds - we loved seeing the Highland cows. We stayed for one night in one of the luxury rooms and had a lovely time. The staff are a credit to the place and make you feel special without being overbearing. The food in the Rhubarb restaurant was fab and served in a romantic setting. Perfect hotel for couples. Cant wait to return!
