The plan was simple: find a budget hotel close to Edinburgh Airport — and it worked perfectly. The hotel met our expectations. The room was small but clean and functional, with a shower cabin and toilet. The mattress was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a bistro on the ground floor where you can have a drink, eat something, or buy takeaway food. Paid parking is available (a few pounds). The hotel is only about 8 minutes by car from the airport, which allowed us to catch our early morning flight without any issues and saved us a late-night trip to the airport. We will definitely use this hotel again if we need a convenient place to stay near the airport.

I stayed at the ibis Budget hotel from the 3rd to the 5th of December with my disabled mother, and overall we had a pleasant experience. We were given an accessible room, which was ideal for us. The room itself was perfectly fine, and the bathroom was spacious enough for my mum to move around comfortably. She especially appreciated the seat in the shower, which made things much easier for her. The only issue we had was that the TV in our room didn’t work. My mum went to reception to let them know, and a gentleman from the front desk came to the room to see if he could fix the problem. He wasn’t sure what was wrong with it and, despite trying, couldn’t get it working. He apologised repeatedly, though we kept reassuring him that it wasn’t his fault. He even kindly offered us free pizza, which we declined as we had just eaten — this was around 6pm. Since the TV couldn’t be fixed, he arranged for us to move to another accessible room. When we arrived, the TV was already working and the heating was on, which was lovely. We were very grateful for the receptionist’s help and couldn’t thank him enough for how attentive and understanding he was. Overall, despite the small hiccup, the staff member’s professionalism and kindness made the stay a positive one

Rooms were quite small especially if you have a buggy and luggages with you. Would recommend to book with breakfast included. Would've loved it if they had eggs and pretty options were ham, tomatoes, cheese, yogurt and baked goods. Service was good. They keep the dinning area clean. Location is perfect as it's close to Gyle Centre tram, shopping centre and close to airport. Problem the buggy/ wheelchair access didn't had any lighting and can be dark during at night.

Staff were very helpful, friendly, and can't be faulted in any way. I was very happy to have somewhere to store our luggage when we arrived early and extra bedding was provided on request. I found it very strange that the sink was located in the bedroom and that the shower had a mostly see through door, also located in the bedroom. This wasn't obvious in the pictures on the website. I had wrongly assumed the shower was partitioned from view. The abundance of mirrors, whilst useful, made it very difficult to not accidentally see each other when showering. The beds were comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. There wasn't really much space in the room for clothes or bags but it wasn't much of an issue as we were only staying one night. I was extremely pleased that the blind provided complete window coverage giving a full black out in the room. That's unusual and very welcome. I suppose you get what you pay for and being a budget hotel I didn't expect much. However I do expect basic privacy when I'm naked in the shower

good hotel, compact space but good if you don't plan on being in the room all day. the bath door is a little see through. and the toilet door is also very thin so it might be a problem if you share the room. Otherwise all good, comfy beds, breakfast was a decent spread. free coffee and tea available 24*7

Very basic breakfast. Only night time food was 3 choices of pizza and after our 1st night they were sold out. Bar fridge, toilet brush and face washer in the room would of been nice. Close to transport and shopping centre. The staff were nice and helpful.

As we had booked our trip to Edinburgh very spontaneously, the Ibis was one of the only hotels with vacancies. Otherwise, I’m sure we wouldn’t have booked it, being so far from the city center. It is a nice enough looking building and close to the next tram station. Going downtown takes about 20 minutes via tram. The person we checked in with was incredibly friendly and eager to help. Sadly, the rest of the staff wasn’t, some wouldn’t even greet us back when we passed them. The only vegan options for breakfast were cereals and bread with jam. Those aren’t very healthy or even filling and get pretty repetitive after a few days. The room was tiny and didn’t have a real bathroom (sink in the room, which is a dire way to wake up your sleeping travel buddy; random see-through shower cabin right next to the bed). The toilet wasn’t closed off either - there were big gaps to the upper and lower end of the door, which meant that my friend and I had to either play music or leave the room of we wanted some privacy to do our business. The hotel was absolutely ok for three days, but I wouldn’t choose it a second time.

I stayed here for an overnight after a work event. Very close to tram station and parking was fine, very limited though and tight. Rooms and the hotel generally is basic but clean and helpful staff. I would stay again if at an evening event as its much cheaper than city centre hotels and the tram is so easy.
