The price is nice for what you get. I really fancy the idea of single rooms inside of an apartment. Well it's getting really loud when the bars and clubs turn on the music and the windows don't block out all the sound and you really need to live with the sounds of the people next to you. I was really sad that there was no free wifi because it's normally a Standart in every hostel. Though the people ad the reception where really nice and always helpful and open about questioms

All the picture shown on their website were over prettifying for commercial purposes. Actually, once we met the reality of room those well-organized pictures seem presented as a tricky deception. The room is too tiny to open our luggage. The beds are not flexible at all. It seems no one clean the bathroom and kitchen since ages. The heater in room also covered dust. We have booked their room since 3monthes ago but they said we can do nothing for you with the reason for hot season of Edinburgh festival and it costs 100pounds per night you might pay for the jail experience ...........but by the way you can enjoy the modern rest experience in ibis with the same price.

I don't find anything that would be very positive. Just a basic hostel with worse quality than usually. Everything works. A lot of noise both in the house and from the street. Paper thin windows&walls or no insulation, all noises are audible. Not dirty but definitely not too clean. Many spots are outdated and made really cheap. Breakfast bag has to be taken from the reception (for some rooms it is in the other block in another building) and it is pretty simple: milk, cereal bar, sugared cereals, small juice, a muffin and a fruit. No towels included. Kitchen ware was in bad shape, especially frying pans and there were only 4 glasses and plates for 8-12 people.

Great for basic and cheap accommodation. Really central, helpful staff, and clean. No bells and whistles, but if a place to crash with fresh sheets that doesn't break the bank is what you're looking for, then it fits the bill!

Location wise is fantastic. Nothing fancy. The important thing is we can get a decent sleep & get a nice shower. And quite safe. If you want to spend money more on your holiday in Edinburgh & surroundings but not too much for the place you sleep, this hostel is ideal.

Location is highly accessible. Facilities like shared bathroom, laundry and kitchen are clean and well kept. Have no wifi though, towels have to be rented and early check in (before 3pm) requires 3 pounds. Staff are friendly and approachable.

    1. It's not accessible at all, you might end up climbing 5 floors to your room. 2. Shared bathrooms between 4 double rooms, no soap no toilet paper and toilet and shower are in same room. So if one person decide to take a shower others can not use the toilet. 3. The doors and hall floor are noisy, they crack all the time, so forget about a nice and restful sleep during the night. 4. Rooms are very small, dirty and uncomfortable. I know the fact that it's a hostel but with £17.5 pppn I expect something more than a prison cell :/
