Quaint little coffee shop on the Royal Mile, half way down from the Castle, so a welcome rest stop. Coffee very good. Relaxing space, friendly staff. Sausage roll was fair, with a spike of black pepper, but could have done with more salt and seasoning. £18.50 for two sausage rolls, a coffeeand hot chocolate.

We were here on a food tour and were introduced to cranachan. One pic is the food tour portion size and the other is the actual portion on the menu, we were too quick to eat before remembering a picture. We bought whisky syrup and some souvenirs too and knowing it goes to fund National Trust for Scotland (museums and art galleries which are free) we felt it was all money well spent. If you want a highland coo buy it here!

Very expensive ticket price for a 3 level museum but what is even more appalling was the unprofessionalism of the 2nd level guide, an elderly woman. She approached me to start regaling abt the history but as soon as a large group descended from the 3rd level, she promptly cut off her speech and proceeded to entertain them. Should have just left this place alone & focused on John Knox house instead!

It was a really good way to spend an hour. There are different floors set in different time periods of the building with guides on each floor giving a bit of history. You can touch most things and I got to try on the bonnets which is a nice touch. There are even costumes for adults and children to try out. And the ceiling they uncovered during restoration looks amazing and very detailed.

Wonderfully preserved historic home that’s worth a visit. The tour of the house starts on the third floor. It begins in the 20th century and works you back to the 16th. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Interactive as well, so they encourage you to get into everything. There’s a cafe on the ground floor is you fancy it.

An interesting way to know about our city. From Nobel's house to merchandising till the city decayed. The Trust had put great effort on restoration and demonstrates the way of living in the city back to the 16th century.

Can’t not praise the curation and staff enough for our fantastic experience touring the building. Every room we walked into we were greeting promptly by the guide, told a story and then talked with each one for 20 minutes about all the cool artifacts and furniture. Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Spread over 3 floors, this 17th century tenement was very interesting. A guide on each floor. The lower floor also includes a small cafe. Unfortunately wheelchair access is not available.
