   Baja Bikes Edinburgh is a great little cycling tour company located just off the famed Royal Mile. I was never the most confident cyclist so I had my doubts about doing a three hour long tour. However my mind was put at ease with assistance and words of encouragement from Baja's wonderful tour guide Turlough. The guide helped me choose the right bike - there are multiple different bikes to choose from including e-bikes - and watched as I did a few laps of the side street to ensure I was comfortable. When it comes to choosing the right bike, I must say that an electric bike might be your best bet as the route which Turlough took us on had several hills. The tour itself was absolutely fantastic. Our group of 12 or so, got to see both Edinburgh's cityscape of Holyrood and Old Town but also the enclosed wilderness of Holyrood Park and the legendary Arthur's Seat. Turlough kept things interesting yet jovial throughout. Definitely the highlight of the trip. Strongly suggest you sign up for one their tours asap!

   Peter has planned out a great route for seeing the city by bike. The first few minutes going down High Street is a little crazy on the main road, but after that you enter Holyrood Park and are on dedicated bike trails most of the way from there. The views from the trail going towards the top of the park are outstanding. There is a visit midway to the oldest public house in Scotland in a small village on the far side of the park, and then a cool ride down the Innocent Railway and through the long tunnel to get back to the city. It finishes with a ride around the Meadows and by the university. We had a large group of 27 so they split into two. Our guide Turlough was fantastic. So funny and really did an outstanding job. The bikes were all in great condition. Most people rented e-bikes, in fact, only a couple of us got conventional bikes and it was hard to keep up with the rest of the group going up the hills in the park. That being said, I like the exercise and would rent a regular bike again for that reason, but just be aware you’ll need to really crank on it to keep up with everyone else on their ebikes. Bring some money to buy a coffee or beer at the mid-point stopover, which is a really nice break.

   Amazing way to experience Edinburgh, especially if you are lucky enough to have Turloch as your tour guide. Very engaging and entertaining storyteller who made the tour an absolute blast for everyone. Hope you'll make it big as an actor mate!

   We did the private 3h bike tour with Baja Bikes through Edinburgh. We had an amazing time with our tour guide Turlough, who told us everything about Edinburghs in 2 versions: the story and the history. Tip: take the e-bike to have an easier time getting up the hill in Hollyrood Park.

   To see other parts of the city and hear the associated stories, a bike ride is and remains a must. We have already used Baja Bikes in several places and will continue to do so. Beautiful anyway of about three hours. Advice is to take an electric bike because of a few slopes. Had a drink on the way at the old pub of Scotland. Otherwise you won't get there so quickly. Hollyrood park, The Royal Mile, Grass Market are among other locations you will cycle past. The city center is within walking distance, but this is a very nice addition. You can pay in cash and you can also pay by card on the spot.
