Opening hours wrongly advertised here. They close lunchtime - very difficult to get prescriptions if you work a 9-5

Okay, it's not the greatest shop in the world but it does what it's meant to do. I see multiple complaints on here about people going to collect prescriptions only to find they aren't ready. I get a text alert telling me my prescription is ready to be collected and I go and collect it. It literally couldn't be more simple than that. I've never found the staff to be unhelpful. I do agree that some of the shelves are pretty empty but I'm not there to buy things so it doesn't matter to me.

I had an appalling experience at this pharmacy back in March when trying to collect a prescription for contraception. I arrived earlier in the afternoon and was told my prescription hadn’t come through. The pharmacist advised me to call my GP to amend it if I wanted to collect it that day. I did so immediately, right there in the pharmacy, and was told to come back later — again, on the pharmacist’s own suggestion. I mentioned that I had other commitments, but they assured me the medication would be ready if I returned before closing. Unfortunately, I was running slightly late and arrived just as the doors were being shut. I could see the pharmacist at the desk and asked the doorman if I could speak to him, believing that they were expecting me and that my prescription would be ready to collect. What happened next was completely inappropriate. I was allowed in only to be publicly chastised by the male pharmacist in front of multiple staff members. He spoke to me in a condescending, scolding tone — as though I were a child — accusing me of “keeping them all behind” and loudly dismissing the importance of the medication, stating it wasn’t an emergency. He implied I was wasting their time and that my need for contraception didn’t justify my presence at closing time. My friend and I left feeling incredulous and dismayed by this healthcare professionals absolute lack of professionalism or regard to women’s health care. I do collect other medication from this pharmacy which I do consider more important for my health but that is absolutely not his call to make — and in any case, I never at any point claimed it was an emergency or said which medication I was there to collect. The fact is: contraception is essential medication. It should not have to be labelled an emergency to be treated with dignity and seriousness. The pharmacist’s attitude was deeply dismissive and shaming — and misogynistic. For a healthcare professional to attempt to make a woman feel humiliated for collecting vital medication is unacceptable. Because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable seeking care at this pharmacy and will be speaking to my GP now that it is time for me to renew my prescription. Women’s health deserves better than this.

I went with my prescription and I have been advised to wait 15 minutes for them to prepare my meds as the counter lady advised to me. After waiting for 40 minutes they called me to the counter and said they dont have it. I had to go to another pharmacy waisting my time. This was prescribed by my gp with an emergency appointment and it was urgent. They never apologise or anything. Never coming back.

Absolutely dreadful Pharmacy I have waited and waited for a prescription for literally weeks now. The staff at the pharmacy make you feel like you are begging for your medication. I am asking for life saving medication and they are laughing in my face

Usual Boots' products but only one cashier open for retail sales and prescriptions with a queue of at least 7 people waiting at any time. Employees are "working" on the background ignoring queueing clients. An extremely slow service indeed. Lots of room for improvement (aka open two more tills to avoid that unacceptable line waiting)

Came in here to do some Christmas shopping, left without a single thing. Staff utterly appalling - 4 of them in the store - with 3 of the 4 just either chatting behind at the pharmacy or just sitting on one of the till desks scanning receipts. Queue was out the door and the one who was serving wondered off for 10 minutes with no explanation so I walked out and paid my money to Superdrug next door who served me within a minute. Would avoid.

I bloody despise this boots, the staff there is frikkin slow and always chatting with each other and slacking off their work instead of efficiently dealing with customers. Often seeing them chatting with each other uselessly despite long waiting queues of customers! Been going here for 2 years as my default pharmacy but it keeps getting worse & worse!! changing very soon.

Had an awful experience this afternoon. Went in to collect the rest of my prescription that they were short in giving me. She wasn't interested or listening in what i was trying to say. The (most unprofessional) manager Martyn was even worse, did not let me explain why i was there. Then proceeded to throw me out after i show a little frustration.
