Ok in for some checks via AandE . Despite being stretched to capacity with overspill in corridor on a trolley it was absolutely fine. Pauline Triaged me, brilliant, efficient and informative. Sam, the duty doctor explained the testing and treatment pathways. A stressful time made, dare I say, enjoyable with nursing staff, Precious and Gideon, Stephen and Gillian. I was further moved from the corridor to another corridor, this was not an issue, perhaps not ideal but clinically all the moving parts were in motion. Perhaps some would say we should expect more from our NHS with corridor sojourns. I realise its stretched to capacity during a flu spike but the staff that treated me were very attentive and professional. Hope no one ends up in hospital for obvious reasons but keep a positive mind and see beyond that. Its the staff that make the difference. Everyone I met, cleaning, Auxiliaries, students and medical......Great Job. Well done. Gerard. Home now and grateful.

A massive thanks to all the staff st University Hospital Crosshouse from A&E, triage, ward 4C (Elaine), surgery team led by Peter, anesthetic team and the nurses in ward 5B. The care I received from 1st entering A&E, through triage was second to none. It was obvious from the moment I walked in to A&E, I was taken seriously and the pain i was in was recognised. The process was timely considering the busy area. Elaine at ward 4C was superb in keeping my wife and I informed of all the stages that I was going to go through. The respect from the surgery team and individuals from the anesthesia team was reassuring and although I was out (thankfully) the surgery team done a good job. Recovery in ward 5B was greatly appreciated. One down side, Monday morning I was not offered breakfast or a cup of tea, even though I was helped out of bed into a chair in readiness for this. I can not fault the staff, care and the hospital in all the areas I attended. 7 hours from entering A&E to surgery, under the pressure you are all under that was impressive. As the saying goes, not all heroes wear capes. You all do an amazing job. Thank you.

Just want to say a huge big thankyou to all in the ophthalmology depts both at Ayr and Crosshouse for the wonderful care I have received from both Dr. Michael and Dr. Aman Ullah. Also the extended care from the orthoptic department and nursing staff. What a wonderful team. Professional, kind and caring. However also thanks to clinic staff, reception and secretaries who have been there for me. I will always be grateful for the care I have received. Maureen C

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Elderly father admitted 6 weeks ago with broken neck after a fall at home. Collar eventually fitted in a ward by orthotics. Developed endocarditis???? Bacterial infection of heart…. Where did that come from??? Ended up in a cardiac ward. Food horrible especially After 6 weeks. Not eating now. Some of the nurses are amazing . I have to give them credit however bank staff esp at weekend terrible! No empathy, no understanding of patients and family’s emotions. Cheeky and rude too. The hospital needs updated, thoroughly cleaned and the staff including doctors require better communication with family. Leaving my father in there after visiting is very difficult. I wish he had been taken to a different hospital by the ambulance.

Never any parking spaces, you need to arrive at least half an hour early for your appointment so you have time to hunt for a space. Been a few times in the past year and found it to be unclean looking for hospital standards. Staff are lovely and helpful though.

Although the nhs are back logged with wait times. They still manage to provide impeccable service and do keep the facilities clean. That's a bonus

I arrived at a&e yesterday at 5:30pm. At 00:15am I asked receptionist how much longer I was told 'several hours'. I'm sitting there in significant pain with no pain killers, no food etc. Babies just left in pain waiting more than 5 hours to be seen Why as tax payers are we standing by and letting this happen, why are we accepting that this is normal and ok? If we were paying private would we accept? We could get private cheaper than what we pay via taxes!!!! Absolute disgrace Sooner we privatise the NHS the better

Infection control is a joke. Medical staff with masks down round their chins. Going between patients without sanitising their hands, or putting on new gloves. Saw this regularly in ICU and HDU. The very same staff having the cheek to ask visitors to wear the blue masks provided, even when the visitors are wearing brand new out of the packets PP3. Nurse station desks unattended in ICU and HDU. Food is not fit to feed to dogs.....dry tastelessness and usually cold.

I had the misfortune to be ill last month and was taken into the ENT dept - mainly for a good slap due to the nonsense in my head (joke). The staff were ultra friendly and kind. The food was fab and the constant attention was terrific - cannot complain at all. Facilities were spotless and the doctors were kind and compassionate. I do not envy their job, but well done staff of Crosshouse Hospital - you made my stay a great comfort in a difficult time. Cannot praise them enough.
