We stayed at the Village Hotel prior to a concert at the OVO Hydro. It is just a 10 minute walk away. The whole experience was great. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, the food was good and the gym and spa were an added bonus. However, what really sets the Village hotel apart from many similar hotels is its staff. Everyone that we came into contact with was friendly, attentive and very helpful. The standout individual was Christian M. On a busy Saturday night, with the restaurant full, it was bar orders for food only and about a 30 minute wait. Christian took my order and I went and sat at a table with a drink. In many establishments, that would have been the end of the interaction with the barman as he had pushed the order, and my location, to the kitchen. However, after about 20 minutes he came and found me to ask if I’d had my food yet. Once he knew that I hadn’t, he went away and returned with it a few minutes later. Great service from a great team. I have no hesitation in recommending the Village Hotel.

Room was great. Service in the restaurant was not good. Pool hours for kids is not good. Check in and eat dinner then go to the pool but it closes for kids at 1900 (right after dinner). Then you cant be in the pool area watching your kids swim. You must be IN the pool eith your teenage kids. This is the dumbest rule I've ever heard. Had to go change. By the time we came back down it was 1900 and we were told we cant swim. Huge fail! Starbucks is nice but close early. Room was nice but super narrow.

The Village is a fantastic hotel with everything you need under one roof. There’s a Starbucks, a pub & grill, swimming facilities, and a sauna and steam room — what’s not to love? The staff are incredibly friendly and can’t do enough for you. The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable. The food was top-tier, and the service was fast and efficient. I would definitely recommend The Village. Thank you!

The food was awful. Large function and the main course was awful, vegetarian and the meat. Undercooked potatoes and some were green just on our table alone, parsnips and carrots. Felt very understaffed in the main bar and dining room and the function room. The staff present were amazing and helpful. Hotel was clean. Plenty of parking. Disabled friendly lots of open space. I have stayed before and rooms were very good. However I wont be back as it was very disappointing. It does have a gym that looks good.

Would have liked to give it more stars but I couldn't. Arrived early and were not able to check in so went to the bar. We ordered the specials which were jacket potatoes, mine came cold and I took it back but a quick blast in the microwave and the meal was tepid and the sourcream had gone funny, not offered a refund ! The room was ok, but we had paid extra for a club room and it doesn't have a shower only a shower bath, told at reception they are all the same, when booking it showed a shower. The tv was big, but no access to the hdmi socket and it didn't cast ! Used the swimming pool, which was ok until it got busy, its also an external health club / gym. The floor in the changing rooms around the showers was disgusting, probably because it was shared with the gym and a lot of people were in trainers. The gym looked fantastic, although I didn't use it. The restaurant was ok, but there was a function on and kids running about at one point they were playing with the breakfast glasses, but were made to put them back URRGGGHHH. They should have been rewashed. The meal was ok and portion was about about right. Rooms were fairly quiet, but very very hot. and there was too much road noise with the window open to sleep. All the reception staff were friendly and courteous Thehotelreview

Ideally located for access to the SEC complex. Easy access from the motorway. Nice friendly staff. However, rooms could use a bit more attention to detail. Floors need to be vacuumed better, and bedding and walls need to be refreshed in some rooms. Overall, though, it was a lovely stay and well situated.

Reception desk had two lovely ladies on with great bubbly personalities and willing to have a conversation with us. Place is lovely and clean and great atmosphere. Room was nice and clean/neat and comfortable bed. Heated pool and bar and grill was just what we wanted. Stacey checked me out and I had a few problems she helped me out with, she gave me a good laugh and helped me out with some other issues. Special Thank you to her.

Great welcome from the cheery reception staff. We had a great size with a super comfy bed. Lovely modern hotel, another great welcome in the bar with usual bar selection. Food was hot, plentiful and served again by a cheery waitress. I think this says a lot about the management of the place. All staff we came across seemed genuinely happy to be there and to provide a great service. What a great venue this is.

First time being in Glasgow. The hotel was recommended by a colleague who stays here when he is in Glasgow. Very happy with checking-in, speedy and efficient. The room is clean and perfect for a few days stay. Proper mugs as well which is great. TV is a great size but some channels did not have a great reception, not a problem though. There was a football game on and the bar gets very busy, however the meal I had was very nice. I think I will have a pleasant stay here.

Perfect. One night stay for concert. Staff are exceptional, food was excellent, bar prices are fair. Breakfast was great, only scrambled egg on buffet but made poached and fried eggs to order no problems and done with a smile. Excellent breakfast service.
