We visited today for the first time and we're so impressed with all aspects - a friendly team, fabulous food with good choices for breakfast and lunch (including veggie) and the most amazing 3 tiered cakes. Lovely barista coffee (2 shots per cup for a true barista taste) and a good choice of drinks all round. We sat downstairs at a table and chairs, which was bustling the whole 4 hours we were there, but ventured upstairs to check out things for our next visit and found tables and chairs for resting but also soft chairs and sofa with coffee tables which is perfect for a quicker visit. Everything was fabulous and we have already planned our next visit. The food was freshly cooked, piping hot and very tasty. A note about the cakes... so impressive that I didn't even think to get photos. My friend had a white chocolate and cherry triple layer sponge and I had the triple layer dark chocolate. Wow. Both tasted delicious and we discovered the reason why - the baker appeared and told us they make a chocolate ganache and then whip that into buttercream. Totally devine and so chocolatey. The whole experience was worthy of a 'Hollywood handshake'.

A bit of a hidden gem. Rustic farmhouse cafe in the village. A little bit off the beaten track but excellent food once you get there. We enjoyed breakfast which was excellent. Not too expensive , but not cheap given its location. The ground foor accepts dogs which is OK if you are a dog lover. During our meal, two dogs were having a bit of a face off and the owners didn't seem to realise it was not great for the other customers. Staff didn't ask them to control their animals hence we mark it down by one star.

Superb breakfast. Was recommended The Holy Cow by my sister during a visit to Wells, so we stopped by on our way home. We both had the Veggie Delight, and what a delight it was! Fried (or poached) egg, grilled tomato, mushroom, halloumi, wilted spinach, baked beans, home-made hash browns and home-made cranberry and pumpkin seed toasted spelt. All freshly made to order, this ain't no fast food outlet, but a really good example of what a cafe breakfast should be like. We were tempted to share some pancakes for a breakfast dessert, but we abstained. Will have to go back for a revisit next time we are in Somerset to try them out. The prices aren't any different to most places these days, just better food. We couldn't resist taking away a couple pieces of cake. Both gorgeous. Highly recommended. Thank you The Holy Cow team.

Wonderful cafe on the outskirts of Chilcompton (tucked away in a small farm estate) this cafe was a brilliant find. Excellent service from the staff, very friendly and welcoming. We stopped for brunch and had their home made toasties and coffee, it was all delicious. They served complimentary iced water with every order which was a great touch especially on a sunny day. Seating available indoors and out, located in a pretty farm with views of the church. Free parking at the front of the building. Ideal location for all of the family.

Oh my goodness - what a fantastic find. Today we happened across this cafe - Wow. First thing that impressed was the hard working, helpful and friendly staff. On entering, Every table was full (having tasted the salad, burgers, cakes we are not surprised) but Debbie did her utmost to not disappoint us by turning us away and within a couple of minutes had us seated comfortably with menus in hand and drinks ordered. Service throughout our meal was super, friendly, efficient. The salads /savoury plates were the best we have had for years. The coffee was delicious and the cake selection was interesting and different. We will all be back. Thank you - we will be back very soon.

Excellent as always. First time upstairs today, glad to see the wrought iron chairs are there. It's been very well done. I kinda miss the kitchen on the first floor but very glad to see it's going so well. A few pictures to actually show what the place is like rather than plates of food

Now our regular, week after week, this place ticks all the boxes. Great menu, both breakfast and lunch. Having been to so many cafes and been disappointed over the years, itβs refreshing to leave HC happy and βfull-filledβ every time. All the staff are super friendly and accommodating to dietary requirements. We especially want to thank Debbie who continues to go above and beyond, making us feel welcome as you would a friend, and never phased by what some would find to be awkward requests. Sitting outside by the church and farm animals view in the summer/autumn was a delight. We have a favourite table indoors for the winter now, it has a lovely view of the cows in the fields. It really is the perfect spot for all seasons. Looking forward to bringing family and friends to the new local soon, so they can see what all the fuss is about. There is something for everyone on food and drinks menu, really delicious and donβt get me started on the incredible cakes! Big thanks to you all, weβll see you for brunch very soon (probably tomorrow)! Natasha & Rachel

What a fabulous find. Lovely food & great service. I visited with my daughter and we shared a chicken & pesto sandwich and a hot goats cheese & cranberry sauce sandwich, both of which came with crisps. They were both delicious plus we ordered a bowl of wedges to share, which were really yummy and came with mayo. The coffee they use is also really good and not at all bitter. We will definitely be returning. Give it a try - Iβm sure you wonβt be disappointed.

A lovely little cafe located down some country lanes. Great menu with lots of options. Stopped here for breakfast and had the smoked salmon with poached eggs and it was perfection! Fast and friendly service and good coffee too. It's not a huge place - so booking a table at mealtimes is worth doing.
