Defo a good pub rather than a traditional pud, ushered is onto a table rather than letting us stand at the bar....but as we'd already eaten we only stayed for one drink and moved on as a result. Would definitely go back for food at some point as it smelt amazing.

I recently hosted a 40th birthday party in the function room of Fishponds Tap and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the very first enquiry, the owner was incredibly helpful and supportive, making the whole process smooth and stress‑free. On the day, everything was set up perfectly and ran seamlessly. The sound system for own music was fantastic—no need for a DJ as it kept the energy high all night. The bar was well stocked with a great range of drinks at very reasonable prices, and every member of staff was polite, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The room itself had such a welcoming atmosphere, and all our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. This venue really went above and beyond to make the celebration special. Highly recommend for anyone planning an event—you’ll be in great hands!

Just had lunch and it was beautiful! Lamb Rogan Josh. Really tasty not too spicy along with garlic chilli prawn side dish I would highly recommend a visit and I will definitely be back again.

Fourth visit now and have never been disappointed. Have had different curries each time and all have been fantastic. Himalayan fish curry this time. Butter naans are delicious. Can also mix and match with the pub classics menu if you want to. Was a Saturday night so bit crowded and noisy this time, but still managed to tuck into a corner.

Visited for the second time on a Saturday night to have a light bite and a few drinks. The drinks are on the pricey side but the food is really lovely. We shared a jumbo platter between the 2 of us for £22.95 and found it really good value for money. We were both satisfied by the end of it. Have yet to try one of their curries but will certainly be returning to try in the future!

Our friend took us here for drinks & good, what a little gem! Service was fast, and friendly. Drinks a reasonable price, and the food spot on! Really recommend.

We’ve eaten the Himalayan curry four times so far since we started going in August, all with different friends and family and we’ve loved it every time. The Himalayan curry is one of the best I’ve tasted and the chap who runs the pub creates a very welcoming atmosphere. The other staff are friendly and helpful too. Often very busy when we go in full of large family groups and friends and I can see why as it’s a very relaxed atmosphere. You could bring your gran here or work mates as the pub accommodates everyone. Only one bit of feedback, perhaps the night time lighting in the garden is a bit glaring they could soften it a bit somehow and maybe a bit of garden improvement in what is already a lovely open space with lots of potential but that’s just my thoughts. Overall a great local! Well done

Me and my good friend came in last week was pretty busy in there but we managed to get a seat pretty quickly. Had a gold selection of drinks and food. The food was really well made you can certainly taste the quality.

Strolling by, I knew this place formerly as The Portcullis and from the outside was NOT appealing. Noticed it had a new name and visually very inviting so decided to go in for a quick drink as had already eaten earlier. Wish we hadn't eaten earlier, as we saw the menu. The premises are beautiful, clean, very inviting with a very chilled atmosphere. The staff were very courteous and welcoming. Would definitely recommend. Looking forward to trying out the food next.
