Great little place, don't know how I only just started going here. Really nice staffing the pop up food was nice. Pints very reasonable price and very good.
Lovely pub! Such a shame that the toilets are so unfair to women. Myself and my 2 friends had separate incidents in the unisex bathroom. I am all for unisex/inclusive bathrooms but they are not done well here. Having the queue take place behind the urinal is unpleasant and meant that my friends and I were victim to angry words from men. There is nowhere else to stand without being in the way of other customers and it leaves female identifying people at risk. Would be 5 stars if the toilets were appropriate.
This is a great pub, the staff are very friendly and the outside area is huge with loads of seating. The only issue when we visited last night was that we had to use the toilet in their unisex toilets. The idea of unisex toilets themselves is no issue, however the only place to queue for the one stall was in the room of urinals. We did try to wait outside as it was extremely uncomfortable being surrounded by men with their trousers down, however then a man would just queue jump in front of us to use the stalls. It was very bizarre, i’m not sure why the other bathrooms weren’t open, but it honestly ruined the experience for us. The men we ended up standing with whilst waiting were incredibly aggressive and several of them had nasty comments about why we were in there waiting for the only stall. A shame as the pub itself and the staff were great, however bathrooms are important as it’s pretty inevitable that when you drink you will need to eventually use one.
Castle Green is hands down the friendliest pub I've ever stepped foot in. From the moment you see those gorgeous flowers adorning the front, you know you're in for something special. The staff here are absolutely fantastic - genuinely warm, welcoming, and always ready with a smile. They make every visit feel like you're catching up with old friends rather than just grabbing a drink. And can we talk about how dog-friendly this place is? My four-legged companion absolutely loves it here, and the staff treat our furry friends like VIPs. It's so refreshing to find a pub that truly welcomes the whole family - paws and all! The atmosphere is unbeatable - proper local pub vibes with heart and soul. Whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for the evening, Castle Green delivers every single time. Bristol locals, you absolutely MUST check this place out. Visitors to the city, make this a priority stop. You won't regret it! Can't recommend it highly enough. This is what a proper local pub should be.
Another great little side street pub. Extremely well presented place. I didn't even know this was here until recently. What a great find. The Ashton press cider was fabulous. Highly recommended.
Hidden little gem in Bristol. It's super clean inside and outside, nicely decorated, the bartender girl was very friendly, the drinks selection was so so, the outdoor area is tidy and quite cool. Inside the tables, chairs and furnitures are well maintained. The pub feels bigger than it looks from the outside.
went to have a drink at 10.20 pm. the music was already turned off and there was a very strong odour of bleach everywhere and the barmaid thanking a gentleman for mopping the floor for her ready to close. we asked if they were still serving, as they close at 11, and the barmaid said 'ye you got a minute but i don't have any ice' we finished our drink in 10 minutes and left. very eerie and unwelcoming atmosphere. we have been here once before and the 2 guys at the bar were lovely and welcoming.
Great pub. Good range of beers. Very friendly atmosphere.
