I have eaten at this pub 3 times now and absolutely love it. Its a good job im not local to it otherwise I would be there everyday. The food is spectacular and very generous portions, the staff are friendly and kind. Huge selection of drinks available
Held my dad's surprise 80th birthday here and got nothing but help from dawn and rufus, they organised the cake delivery and candles, they got the balloons, they helped us put up banners and provided us with a go to member of staff to look after us, this was a lovely young lady called Megan who was outstanding and went out of her way to help us. I was slightly embarrassed when I saw members of the party purchasing more chips and we ordered more fries and nuggets as these were the most popular and we had a lot of sandwiches left, I suggest 2 bowls of chips and more nuggets and less sandwiches would make this a 5 star review. However, we were quite happy to purchase the extra as everyone was having a nice time and it made my dad very very happy. I recommend this place for a gathering as its a nice room and mostly private and the staff were just amazing, a great team. Thank you Beehive team!
Lovely pub with great food and a huge beer garden. Katsu chickenwas lovely, but chicken was a little dry and breading could be crispier. No hot water in the men's bathroom
Staff very pleasant and accommodating with us and our dogs on a busy charity night they were hosting. Locals also moved tables for us to sit together. The food was very well presented and tasted superb. Highly recommend eating and drinking here. Didn’t realise at the time of paying but there is a 15% blue light card discount. Nice outdoor garden area as well.
Sunday lunch. The Roast beef was good but the shoulder of lamb was a disappointment, overcooked, fatty and tasteless. The description of the veg on the menu was very fancy with words like: Smoked salt, Maple ( syrup) and Rosemary but it was just very sweet and spoilt the flavour of the veg itself. The table was an old oak thing with massive legs either side so we couldn’t get the chair under the table and my wife sat with her legs either side of this turned leg. Very uncomfortable. Pudding menu looked good but they got the order wrong and sent crumble and custard instead of ice cream. With my choice they sent the wrong one all together and there was a wait till my lemon cheese cake eventually arrived. All very disappointing . So , if you decide to visit try to get a decent table and choose the beef rather than lamb. There were other choices like Beefburger but on a Sunday? However the venue seemed very popular especially with older people who were sat in big groups. They also offer 15% discount with a Blue light card ( NHS) so the price was reasonable. But competition is fierce. Think they need to up their game .
Booked the back room at the Beehive for my Mothers 90 Birthday. Buffet was wonderful and they even coped with three Gluten Free guests and a Vegan guest. Staff attentive and friendly and lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend fir anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion.
Me and my friend popped in for some food and to watch the football the other night after our chosen pub for some odd reason wasn’t showing it. Anyway our next nearest port of call was the Beehive which I actually hadn’t been to since I was a child. We were greeted by a super friendly and accommodating young lady who found us some prime seats and was generally friendly and attentive during the whole time as was her colleague. Food was good and a good choice of drink as well, so I’ll definitely be back .
Came here for a family meal. The pub is very loud and blokeish and a bit on the rough side. Music was so loud you could not talk to the person next to you. The food was bog standard pub fodder, served without care or attention (for example, we asked the staff bringing out a steak - "is this the medium rare or well done" and the answer was "I don't know, they just gave it to me". Maybe a good place for a white van man looking for a pint of lager with his mates, but not a good choice for a quiet family meal. Final insult is that they add a massive 'service charge' to the meal.
Went with friends on a Wednesday night. There were only two tables, yet the service was very inattentive. We waited for long time to get attention to get the bill and then again wait to pay and at the end we just walked to the till to pay on the way out. The menu has very limited choice. The food is typical pub food, nothing special, tastes very average. Food was just warm not hot. All in all, this is a typical pub with average food and non existent service. I will not return!
Really good Sunday lunch for vegans veggies and meat eaters. Great service, clearly the landlord knows how to keep and train staff, someone was on day one and you would never know. Also great consideration given to our parents who had walkers and poor mobility. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The Mackerel and the fish and chips were great too.
