I used to come here all the time, until I was spoken down too by the manager, putting their hands on me, even though I went to collect a friend with an outside drink knowing im a frequent customer I do know the rules which i follow as someone in my family also ran the pub next door, but I don't feel safe in this pub anymore knowing im being watch 24/7, spoken down to and physically handled with no prior engagement or aggression. A friendly conversation would of more professional and enough.

Great traditional drinking house, known for its cider, but offers much more.Good atmosphere, friendly locals, what more could you ask!It also has one of the few remaining Courage cockerel signs mounted on the upper elevation.

Welcoming and cheap! The place has tons of character and is a bit of a local legend, most bristolians have ended up here at some point in their life and personally I find it has a certain charm!

The best place to go, cheap drinks, em and Dave behind the bar are absolutely amazing, no matter what they help you out. I am a young female and em and Dave have looked after us no matter what the situation. Amazing service. We love them more than anything

If you are looking for a place with the cheapest beer and the nicest people, this is definitely your place in town. Super kind owners will serve you there. They also organise karaoke nights and quiz nights which you can check out and follow through "thelongbarbristol1" at IG.

Great pub, been going here for years but more regularly recently. Cheapest pint you'll get in the city centre area. You'll find a mix of all types of people here, all different ages. The staff are wicked and really friendly. Recently refurbished. The staff are really friendly too. They sell cobs/rolls behind the bar, got a Duke box and good range of beers, cider and spirts.

The best boozer in bristol. Really friendly staff and the atmosphere is always great. Cheap and cheerful is an understatement. The recent refurbishment makes for a lovely setting, especially since the building itself is so old. Cannot recommend this place enough.

A proper old school pub with very reasonable priced drinks and a fantastic crowd of locals. No generic brown leather seats or tinny pop music playing - a trendy wine bar this is not - it’s a British pub that’s been the starting point for many of my adventure in Bristol! I would often visit alone - and quickly find myself in friendly conversation with a fellow drinker and never failed to have a good time. Check your prejudices at the door, step back in time and enjoy a nice beer or cider that won’t hammer your wallet. It’s a little rough around the edges - just like a proper pub should be!
