I was really disappointed with this restaurant. From my seat, I could see the chef preparing food with poor hygiene—touching their face, wiping hands on their apron, and handling ingredients without care. The food looked sloppy and tasted just as off-putting. I couldn’t finish my meal. I don’t know the name of the chef but he has a big build, short blonde hair with a bit of a beard.I wouldn’t recommend this place until they clean up their act.

The first time we've been in for a while, ordered 2 x fish & chips. We were told we would have to wait 40 mins, which we were surprised but OK with. Food arrived looking like it had just been "slopped" on the plate, without tartare sauce (which we were asked if we wanted when paying), stone cold mushy peas and the tiniest piece of lemon I've ever seen (pic added). Despite having to ask for our tartare sauce no member of staff came to see if our food was okay afterwards. Although this was a spur of the moment visit we were really disappointed because other than this we've always had good service and good food. Sadly we won't be making a special effort to come back.

Busy Hungry Horse, Greene King Pub. There was plenty of space at 4 pm on a Friday and loads of choice. 5 adult meals and two childrens meals for £82 including a drink.

Absolutely lovely food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. We ordered through the greene king app and it made the process simple, quick and easy. Ignore the negative reviews and give this place a go. Highly recommend the chicken New Yorker and Korean bbq burger

We used to eat quite regularly at the Brunel as it’s our local pub/restaurant but recently the food quality has massively gone downhill. We ate at the Hungry horse in Brislington last week and the food was amazing! The quality, the quantity and it was well presented. Ordered food from the Brunel, waited over 45 minutes for our food to come out in poor condition. We asked for a medium rare steak, it came out well done and had grease or burnt fat all over it. We could scrape it off with a knife. No gravy with the Yorkshire pudding wrap. The mushrooms were burnt and the plate contained no garlic butter drizzle. We enquired about our food, and the woman serving seemed as though she could not care and when we asked to speak to the manager claimed she was the manager. She then offered a refund to us. We explained that we used to eat here all the time, but recently we have had : uncooked (pink) chicken, egg shell, and a fly in our food. Very disappointing, I’m not sure if there was a change in chef but something has changed. We now go to the hungry horse in Brislington instead. I have also attached a photo of their version of the garlic bread and mushroom starter.

Came here for Mother’s Day and had a fantastic time! 14 of us in total and nothing was too much trouble for the staff despite being very busy! Food was hot and tasty and came out quite quickly! I’m given to understand that the manageress has not long lost her mother however she still greeted everyone with big smile and friendly manner she should be commended! Thank you a great time had by all we will be back soon x

Went for a meal on the weekend with the family and we had a great time at the Brunel. The food was amazing and came out at a reasonable time. Dessert was my favourite. Many thanks to our waitress Charlotte she was amazing. I highly recommend the Brunel pub.

It's an ok pub; friendly staff, prices are high for the food quality, WiFi availability. The Vimto burger was intriguing to look at....taste wise I wouldn't order again.
