   I haven’t been inside this pub, but I’ve walked past several times recently and unfortunately overheard racially insensitive comments right outside. It gave me a negative impression of the atmosphere. The pub itself may be fine inside, but first impressions matter. I hope management wants to create a space that feels welcoming for everyone, because if potential customers feel uncomfortable from the start, that’s business lost.

   absolutely cracking pub, up there with one of my favourite establishments in Bristol. the atmosphere is unmatched - if you want a proper locals pub at great prices then this is your place (£2.70 for a tribute). Paulo is the loveliest landlord and makes the Mardyke feel like home.

   Took our visitors to this pub - one of our many visits. Lively pub, great vibe, friendly staff, well kept reasonably priced real ales. Lean against one of the oldest post boxes in Bristol!! They loved it.

   So finally got to this Bristol institution and its just a proper pub. Staff were great, customers were an assortment with characters aplenty. Don't be put off by the wall benches outside, just push through the doors grab a very reasonably priced drink and enjoy.
