We called in here after a walk, it's a traditional pub with log fires burning, selling locally sourced food and beers. We had a lovely meal, the steak pie was outstanding and packed with slow cooked tender meat. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff great. Looking to go back to Cheddar in the new year with family. Definitely eating here again.
We stopped here for a snack while visiting Cheddar Gorge. The nachos we ordered were really tasty and the food overall was enjoyable. The decoration inside was cute and cozy, which added to the atmosphere. The only downside was that the staff didn’t feel very welcoming or friendly.
The White Hart is a great pub with very good food – I definitely recommend it! The prices are reasonable, and an additional plus is the friendly atmosphere and the fact that the pub is also dog-friendly.
Nice pub, often busy and popular. Reasonable choice of drinks and good food menu. A pint of Carling and a pint of Bitter Shandy cost £9.80, so on a par with other pubs in the area. Dog friendly,.popular with hikers and visitors to Cheddar Gorge.
What a fantastic pub! I recently visited The White Hart in Cheddar and was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish we ordered was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made us feel right at home and provided excellent, attentive service. It’s a truly great spot for a meal, and I highly recommend it if you’re in the area!
Perfect! Just what a pub should be! The White Hart burger was the best and everyone love it! The ploughmens lunch was full of cheese and very tasty! All well priced too! Highly recommend.
We stopped off for a quick drink and a bite to eat. A cheddar ploughmans in Cheddar Gorge, it had to be done. The food was really good and we didn't have to wait long. Good service all round.
Great pub right next to the gorge. There is lots of seating inside. The menu has vegan, vegetarian, and meat options. They also have the local ciders. The staff are friendly and helpful. We went to the pub straight after completing the hike at cheddar gorge. Great place for food at cheddar.
Great find! Really friendly and efficient customer service. They have a great gluten free menu and cater for coeliacs. We only stopped in for a drink, but when we saw the food coming to the next table we were sold! Really good quality food at reasonable prices. Great beer garden with views of the Gorge. Would highly recommend.
A local pub, very friendly and welcoming, food at a great price ( cheaper than prices at home) which in a tourist attraction was quite something! ( visited twice) Food was OK, presentation could be addressed! Minor things from the young waiters, like side plates and condiments, plus cutterlery that was left out, ( when having Sunday lunch) but all in all a lovely pub with a great garden
