Have always been passed but never stopped in before. We were part of a large group there and booked a buffet as opposed to individual meals. We were seated at the back by the kitchen meaning we had a nice little spot to ourselves. Food was really nice. Had mostly veggie options plus 2 (meat options that got devoured very quickly!) I really enjoyed the roast vegetables and tarts. Couldn't get enough of them! Staff there were really good and recommended a few cocktails for those that couldn't make their minds up which went down well for everyone too. Such a nice chilled vibe even with the football on in a neighbouring section.

Booked a 2 night B&B stay that included a lunch or dinner to the value of £30 on their autumn weekend break deal. The room was comfortable enough, although there were a few small issues which were relayed to the management. Breakfast on both mornings was superb, cooked to perfection. The dinner was another matter..my starter of mushrooms on toast was lovely, however the main course was burnt and dry. I sent back the black Yorkshire pudding, the roast potatoes were solid and the veg roast was totally inedible. James (if I remember correctly his name) was most apologetic but had no explanation.

Our group shared a flight of scotch eggs, the truffle mushrooms on toast and some of the beef sandwichs with both soup and the chips. The scotch eggs were amazing, with perfectly soft boiled eggs inside. The favourite was the black pudding but the variety in flavours was enjoyable. Mushroom on toast went down well and so did the beef sandwichs. Horseradish in the sandwichs could have had a bit more of a kick to it, but still delicious and spice level is dependent on people's taste. Never had chips like these before and they were delicious. Was hesitant at first considering how thick they were, but they were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Soup was carrot and coriander. It had plenty of flavour and complimented the beef sandwichs nicely. Great atmosphere, the Art Deco aesthetic suited the place well. Friendly staff who were very helpful and catering.

Didn’t have a very large selection of ales, but the one or two available were just fine. Fish n chips were above par while the fish pie could have been more fish and less potatoes (and more cream). The place itself was really nice and pleasant to warrant another visit

Great pub with a good drinks selection. The cinema room at the back of the pub is great for sports and not forgetting the good Sunday roasts they do here!
