Proper pub with outstanding cask ale. Don’t waste your time ordering fizzy stuff in here. Proceed directly to the hand pumps and enjoy the best beer in Bristol.

If you only want to drink crask beer from no where local then this is the place for you! They aren't interested in promoting local beer or keg beer - in fact they are completely anti keg beer even though they have 2 or 3. The camera guide also highlighted that they specialise or often have 2 -3 dark beers (which was the main reason we went) but they only had 1 when we went

Good proper backstreet boozer with some decent cask and keg beers. Music is from the 70s like most of the people. A great chilled out atmosphere and good quality beers

Consistently good beers and an ever changing selection of ales and beers. Very traditional pub vibes, but it means it has a lot of character. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Can highly recommend for ale drinkers.

Great proper beer selection, a nice cozy atmosphere with a decent open fire, and no LED lights...so instead of feeling like you're drinking in the kitchen of a new build house, it feels like you're drinking in the aga heated kitchen of an early 20th century farm house in north somerset. A real bristol gem... Cheers!

Top place for real ale - really good selection and nice quiet vibe.

Popped in for a couple of pints on Saturday night, very quiet for a Saturday in there but great selection of beers. Proper old style pub to enjoy a few pints of proper ale. Well worth a visit.

Nice little real ale pub. Very knowledgeable and helpful

  3. Tim Parsons ★★★★★

A nice pub serving a great choice of real ales with a lovely landlord. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Close to the Cathedral and many other great pubs within a short walk.
