Getting it right first time is ideal. That said, coming a very close second to that is “ fixing a glitch quickly and efficiently”. That was my experience hence still 5 stars.

Booked in for a diagnostic on wing mirrors not working. Ended up not getting the work done but when I got home I realised that all the inside of the door had been scratched and damaged where they were trying to get the door panel off. So annoyed. I wouldn't recommend based on my experience

Westlec recently sorted out a wiring problem with the rear camera on my Jaguar, and the whole process from booking in the car, to dropping it off, then picking it up was pretty much flawless. Efficient, personable, professional and knowledgeable. And good value - fixing the problem for a quarter of the price a dealer had tentatively suggested. Highly recommended.

Had a recent problem with a complex issue with a Ferrari, undeterred by the car badge, Jerry diagnosed the problem. After obtaining the part, WestLec went on to resolve the issue, it was quite funny, I could not even see the part that needed changing, but some how they did it. There was no phone calls, no problems, no discussing how difficult it was, he just got on and solved the problem. All I got was a phone call late on a Friday afternoon, asking if I was going to pick it up that afternoon and to not worry, he could just lock it up over the weekend, pick it up Monday. Wow, why are other garages not like this? The bill was very reasonable and I later found out that it was about ⅓ the cost of a Franchise Dealership solving the same issue. Cannot recommend this garage enough, stress free problem solving garage.....

Fantastic service. My husband's van wouldn't start due to an electrical fault. The AA man diagnosed it & gave a 'quick fix', enough to get it to a garage. All the local garages were full for 2 weeks but one recommended Westlec specifically for electrical issues, so we phoned & they were able to see it and sort it within an hour! They only charged for one hour's labour (£69) which is brilliant, and it's meant my husband's business has only had one day of interruption rather than two weeks. Amazing service & so glad that we found these guys! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend & will be using again.

Westlec recently serviced my car's Air Conditioning. The staff was very friendly and helpful, service was excellent and the price was very reasonable. I will use their services again and recommend them to anyone.

What I thought was a a ac compressor issue turned out to be an underpowered alternator so had a genuine ford 110 amp alternator and has given my old girl a new lease of life. Considering her 221000 mile petrol engine. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Westlec to anyone with electric or air con issues

I took my Toyota Avensis to the garage around 8.30am today as the AC was not working. I said to the gentleman at reception that I had taken the car to Halfords earlier this week and was told that there was a fault either with the compressor or with the pipe. Got a call at 9.50am saying that the pipe needed replacement. The job of replacing the pipe etc would cost me in the region of £650 in total. I said no, I do not want the work done. When I went to pick up the vehicle, I was charged £60 for a diagnostic check! I wish I had known this in advance. Wouldn't have proceeded with the check. Went to the local Toyota dealer (Marshall Toyota). The diagnostic check was for free and was quoted £383.56 for the pipe replacement and regassing (including labour). This is a very pricey garage and I am certainly not going back.

Took my bmw 1 series to Westlec Auto Electrical Services as the dash board was flickering with lights- all sorts of fault being reported. Told the receptionist to book my car in for a diagnostic check. The mechanic invoiced me £65 for the diagnostic check. When I question what method of diagnostic he performed, he struggled to answer and said “I did the check and no fault code was found so it looks like you need a new speedometer and a new alternator as your battery is being over charge.” I said, did you check for any loose wiring on the speedometer or open any panels to try and diagnose the issue? To which he replied “no need to as from experience I can see you need new a speedometer as it’s faulty.” I question him further and said did you look at the parking distance control (PDC) board in the boot compartment to see if it’s flooded with water. Obviously the mechanic did not check this area. As a customer it’s embarrassing to tell the expert what the issue was, and yes indeed it was the PDC board being flooded with water which caused short circuiting, displaying all sort of false reading on the dashboard. As I questioned the mechanic more about the PDC check he simply stop in mid-conversation and said “here is your car key and I’ll keep hold of the invoice and we will leave it there ok?” At this point I told him I don’t mind paying for the invoice if the root cause was identified, but a invoice which says fault found as a faulty dashboard isn’t going to be enough of a reason for me to pay for the £65 invoice. As they say don’t feed words into peoples mouth because the truth is they won’t check for the diagnosis and they will invoice you false statement within the diagnostic report. I know the dash board was flicking which is the reason why I took it to your garage in the first place but the difference is I don’t need a invoice to tell me what I already know. As a customer I am paying for root cause to be identified in the diagnosis check and not to tell me false info. Here are some pictures of PDC which were found to be soaked in water. I’ll now be getting a replacement unit and get it reprogrammed.
