Great vets, best I've been to. All the staff are very caring and always take great care of both my cats.

The people here are very unorganised i always get the same prescription and they always get it wrong they prescribe the wrong tablets after I always tell them I don’t want them I want other ones as it’s easier for my dog to swallow and now after they got it wrong again they gave me a prescription for the wrong amount and never signed it which means the place I buy the medication from cannot send my order out my dogs been out of his meds for nearly 1 and a half weeks because they keep on getting things wrong and don’t even do the basics like signing the prescription, also I do get it is probably mandatory for the dog to be seen once in a while so that he can continue getting his meds it’s a bit silly he’s been getting the same things for the last couple of years it’s a waste of time and money these people here are very incompetent and it’s disappointing.

I find it hard to put into words our gratitude towards Dundas Vets. Our beautiful cat Brodie was involved in a horrific car accident, after a short consultation they sprung into action to save his life, Will operated and put his organs back where they should have been a painstaking task. He then needed constant monitoring for a problem with his lung where small amounts of air had to be drawn out in short intervals. Claire was so kind and caring towards Brodie and Myself, kept me updated and i do believe treated him like her own. Without Will and Claires expertise and constant care he would not have survived, i know this to be true, Brodie is lucky we went to Dundas Vets. I unfortunately or stupidly did not have Pet Insurance and my anxiety at the costs was very real, while I appreciate their care and expertise deserves nothing but respect regardless of cost, i do appreciate them doing everything in their power to keep costs to a minimum, i know if he had been anywhere else i would not have been so fortunate. We as a family will be forever grateful to everyone at Dundas Vets from reception staff to the Vets. Edinburgh is very lucky to have such a wonderful Veterinary Surgery!

So knowledgeable, thorough and kind. They all really went above and beyond and I felt reassured and supported the whole way through my cat's ill health. They really helped him to get batter as quickly and painlessly as possibly. Can't recommend these guys enough, they really prioritise the animals, as they should. Amazing team, thank you to all at Dundas Vets!

Today I'm disconnecting my dog from here. I've used it here about five times and every time I come, I repeat, every time I come, the service doesn't last more than five minutes. It's a lack of empathy from the person who's there that day, because we can't just choose who can serve us. Every day, every time you go, it's someone new. When you're understanding, you feel their rush to serve you right away and send you away. Your questions aren't answered. They say they don't know how a veterinarian says they don't know something? What do I know? Besides, the price of service here is high. Other places are better. My last service didn't last eight minutes. I think it was due to the large flow of people waiting in the room. And I'm really disappointed, here it's practically on the corner of my house, so it was convenient for me. My dog had a problem with her bottom and the vet simply told me that was how it was and asked me to wait. HUH? And she still has the problem and it hasn't been resolved. 0 stars. I not only went this time but also on other occasions, the service was not humanitarian and very fast.

I cannot rate the vets, nurses and reception staff at Dundas Vets highly enough. Exceptional pet care, and brilliant with the humans too! I would highly recommend them.

The appointments are so rushed, they will rush you out of the consultation room while you are still making the needed questions before an operation. They spend half of my appointment outside explaining medication to somebody else. No apologies and when back “oh, that’s us”. Excuse me???? You will open his belly and we are done? No process explained to me, I just have to go with what I have been told which is nothing. I had so many question that I kept asking the receptionist, the place were maybe they had time? Nope. Had the feeling they look more for the money than anything else. 2 budgets sent for this, second one adding stuff “cause they forgot”. 100 pounds extra the difference of you being forgetful. Seemed to be so convinient to suddenly remember. I basically run and got him registered somewhere else the very next day after going over what had happened. Also, reception is not like they make you feel welcome with half forced smiles. The vets that come from dosntairs seem lost and not a clue of what is happening, they go around so confused. Definitely a total NO-NO. Would never leave my cat with them on his own. They just dont have the time and have no shame in showing.

Thank you for a decade of care for both my cats, mainly at Granton branch, more complex stuff at Dundas. Thank you more than I can say to Henrietta and the team for your swift, kind and gentle care of Sunday last week when he suddenly couldn't weightbear, and for looking after us in making the most difficult decision. You gave us and him time, patience, dignity and a great deal of care and made the most awful day as okay as it could be. Thank you.

Dundas have been caring for my two dogs since they were puppies and I can’t praise or thank them enough for the care they give them. From Amanda and Laura on reception to the team of nurses and vets, they are exemplary and we trust them 100% to provide ongoing care for our boys.

I brought my cat to a vet with blocked bladder. Cat was not able to urinate, didn’t not eat and barely walked. Was told that the hospitalisation would cost me up to £1k. Cat went through a surgery for which I got to know I have to transfer a cat myself to a 24h vet after surgery! Had to take a risk myself! There was no mention I’d be charged additional costs of post op care in the other place. Turned out that total cost went up to £3.5k. This is an absurd and insane amount of money to pay. I’m not surprised people doesn’t own that many pets in the UK, if the costs are simply not affordable. Plus being misled by the practise about the hospitalisation costs and that they’re unable to transfer a cat to a place where there’s stuff looking after 24h.
