We had a lovely stay at Barony Castle! All the staff were so nice and helpful, thanks to Bethany especially! Our room was great, with a nice view of the garden, and the walks around the grounds in the snow were really pretty - we hope to be back soon!

Stayed two nights with a large group booking. Staff very welcoming, good customer service throughout. Prebooked 3 course eve meal, all good. Asked for room with a bath and they kindly accommodated giving us a family room. Bath very small though. Bathroom door creaky. Toilet seat loose. Tv remote useless. Mattress not good, could feel springs. Needs a mattress topper. Room was a bit too warm even without heating on although fan provided. It was cold nov weekend. To be fair did not raise issues with reception as previous reviews suggest little point. Would probably stay again if price was reasonable

Stayed for a few nights as working nearby. Long driveway goes to the hotel, quite an impressive building, plenty of parking out front. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Restaurant was always busy, seated in the bar area both nights. Food was good, came out pretty fast. Bar menu and restaurant menu available, both have decent options. Room was a nice, little bit tired in places but good enough.

Stunning location and building was impressive from the outside. Staff were incredibly helpful and there is ample parking in front of the hotel. We ended up with a dated and dirty room, but once we spoke with the front desk staff member, we were swiftly moved to a slightly modern room a few floors up. Neither rooms had air conditioning (we visited in the summer) but were provided with a mediocre and loud fan. Breakfast had an odd arrangement on different days, as on our first morning we were asked to order from a short menu, then on our second day we came down to a buffet spread. Apparently this was due to lack of kitchen staff. The whole hotel was extremely dated, like the lift took a ridiculously long time to arrive. However stunning grounds with beautiful greenery and plenty of local animals. Peebles is a gorgeous area worth visiting if you are coming to Scotland!

An Absolute Gem! Dog-Friendly, Stunning Grounds, and Welcoming Staff Our stay at Barony Castle Hotel was nothing short of brilliant. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. It's rare to find a place that is genuinely dog-friendly, and they absolutely nailed it. The rooms are fantastic β spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The food was great for dinner and the breakfast even better. The grounds are simply stunning and perfect for a morning walk. It was a real pleasure to explore the historic surroundings. A huge bonus was discovering the Polish map of Scotland right on the grounds. What an amazing piece of art to have on site! We highly recommend Barony Castle Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable break.

Fabulous dinner b & b treat for my birthday. Upgraded to a suite with very comfy huge bed. Cook your own steak for dinner was best ever. Scenery superb and polish map of Scotland superb. Didn't have time to use pool or spa so can't comment on those. Breakfast was again superb. Very friendly staff and blue brew dug beer was very tasty. Thoroughly recommend

First stay with our new puppy and I canβt recommend Barony Castle highly enough. On arrival, staff were great with our new family member and he got some treats at check-in. Our room was a long walk from reception but it was perfectly situated at the end of the hotel next to a door that we could take pup out if he needed the loo. Room was comfy and clean. Dinner and breakfast were both great and doggo even got mandatory sausages delivered from the kitchen. Grounds are great for an explore and if you do fancy a change itβs not far to Peebles. Iβll definitely be heading back.

This hotel provides Scottish hospitality at its best! This is our second visit and the setting is absolutely amazing! The grounds are beautiful and great for walking the dog. The staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The food at breakfast and dinner is of the highest quality. Our rooms have been comfortable and clean. The hotel is family run and a refreshing change to the hotel chains that we are becoming accustomed to. We absolutely recommend it!!

We stopped by the Barony today as my wife had a Spa appointment and we had lunch beforehand. My wife was delighted with the massage and facial and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food though was a bit of a disappointment. My sourdough bread was solid and a bit stale, though the soup was good. We had our wedding reception here 31 years ago and we've been frequent visitors since. The service is always good, but this is the first time I've not found the food first class. Maybe next time.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first time at an events evening. Booked accommodation too. Dinner was delicious. Nice mix of company once found our table. Rooms clean and comfortable as was the bed. I'm not usually one for a grill led or fried up breakfast but treated myself during my stay - very tasty and fulfilling. The Scottish map in the grounds of Castle is lovely to visit. Highly recommended.
