I’ve fond memories of these gardens over years of having to change trains at Waverley, to taking a break from the hubbub during the Festival, or enjoying some winter wonderland late in the year. They’re just dropped right in the middle of town, separating Old from New, with splendid views and an art gallery in for good measure. Always a good place to start your first trip to Edinburgh to check your bearings and get some quiet.

I thought this was a lovely park. I don't know if they were open but it also had toilets. It was a bit steep pushing a pushchair up and down but manageable. It has a lovely view of the castle and plenty of benches.

This garden has lovely scenery, under the Edinburgh castle. Come here for an escape from the city. It is well maintained and perfect for walks, and picnics. Lots of benches to sit and relax. There is a very good playground for the kids and a beautiful fountain

A stunning, well maintained garden with the most amazing fountain. The whole thing just took my breath away, and the gardens ended up being my favourite part of our day trip to Edinburgh. I was in awe of the fountain, and the view of the castle is the cherry on top of the whole experience. I would definitely recommend a walk through the park if you're in Edinburgh. It's great whether you're just passing through and having a fifteen minute stroll, or spending hours in the sun with a good book!

One word; heart of the city. It’s center the city. After a busy and poetic walk of princes street you can have a break and enjoy all side view. At the top like ancient gods castle, monuments, different type gardens, many path to walk on or just lay down and change the angle and keep quite. Definitely you have the visit and feel the vibe!!

Beautiful park situated between the castle and Princes Street. Dwali was being celebrated whilst I was here so it was full of colour and music. Some interesting statues and memorial dotted around the Gardens itself. If you are in Edinburgh for a few days you will end up here at some pint anyway. Quite peaceful bearing in mind it's probably the central part of the city.

Princes street gardens is such a nice place to relax. Very tranquil when it’s not so busy and beautiful whether it’s busy or not. The lawns and flower beds are perfectly kept. The floral clock is an incredible sight to see and when we visited decorated for the Queens Platinum Jubilee. A must-visit attraction for ant time of year!!!

We entered this beautiful place in the morning around 7 am. People started coming slowly for morning walk/run in and around the garden. The gorgeous flower clock at the entrance of the garden. The view of Edinburgh Castle from the garden is magnificent. Ross fountain inside the garden looks beautiful.

A lovely place to walk through or just sit and relax for a bit with a good book!! Very pleasant with the trees and plants in flower, their scent was traveling on the breeze. You wouldn’t think you were in the middle of a big city!
