I’ve always had great experiences at the Superdrug in Leith as the staff are usually friendly and professional. However my visit today was disappointing. The staff member named Jessica (as shown on my receipt) was dismissive, avoided eye contact and seemed intent on rushing me through the checkout. Despite me saying I didn’t want a receipt she placed it in front of me and as I was packing my bag, she said “thank you” twice in quick succession as if to hurry me away. This fell well below the high standard of service.

Staff very friendly, shop always immaculate and well stocked Great Superdrug selection of products at excellent prices. Assistant went to great lengths to make sure my daughter got the best value for money on her purchases saving her a considerable sum!

Great place to buy cosmetics from. I went to several places for my wife's cosmetics, but the discount which I get in superdrug, none of the other competitor can match that price. It's super super reasonable. Also if you have the superdrug members card, it will give you more discounts on the products and also as you buy, the points Will get on added which you can use later on with more discounts. Best place to buy cosmetics and beauty products at.

Clean and very spacious, but not as cheap as I expected, or perhaps that's because its only a few doors away from poundland where most of the same items can be purchased cheaper

I mean, for what it is, it does it well. There's a large selection of all those cosmetic odds and ends that you need. I went in the other day to peruse the make-up, hoping to find the right colours for my drag makeup. However, after using a little of one tester to check the tone, I noticed a woman in plain clothes hovering around behind me. She was picking up objects and vaguely looking at them, and I clocked that she was following me around, probably to prevent shoplifting. At that point I just left. Now don't get me wrong, I understand that shoplifting happens, and companies do this to prevent it, but as a twenty-something man (that is fairly clean-cut, and well dressed - so I don't even look dodgy) perusing make-up for something that I don't like to broadcast, not only was I put off by the hovering of this staff member literally two feet behind me silently, but had the feeling of being under the magnifying glass. Personally, I felt very uncomfortable, and just left the shop. While shops have to try to prevent loss somehow, I think you might be losing more by making your customers feel bad. I felt like I was on crimewatch the moment I walked in. There are few things worse than feeling like you're under suspicion when you're totally innocent, and this sort of behaviour makes that pretty heavy. Discretion in future, and maybe I'll consider actually coming and buying, since the products I was looking for were there.

Large Superdrug with a great selection of products - especially makeup and hair dye. Accessible for wheelchair users and with generally friendly staff. They have recently opened a 'brow bar' in the shop offering eyelash tints and eyebrow maintenance etc.
