refused to serve me without ID even though I’m 30 years of age and in my work clothes, absolutely disgusting !
Newer Rude employees now here unfortunately. Watch you may be charged 35p for a bag you never asked for... also not good for mother earth if everyone is getting a bag they don't want or need! Then expect a bad attitude if you do get overcharged. ====== Full review ========= I was not asked if i wanted a bag, and member of staff had already starting packing items in said bag. So i said i did not want a bag unless they are now free. Staff: "they are 35p", i responded "no thank you, i did not ask for a bag" staff: "I thought you asked for two bags?", (?i only had a few small items? why would i even want 2?) Me: "Nope, I never said anything". (at this point i thought it was all very odd, but was really not bothered and wanted to leave) Then, unfortunately I was met with a very rude manner. Like the bag, I never asked for one, it was followed by what at first seemed like a genuine "i apologise", but quickly was followed with a *very* sarcastic and childlike, "i am sooooooo sorrrrrrrrry". I then asked for a manager as she was being very rude towards me about *her* mistake. someone comes over, she says "Get the 'manager'", then in the same breath, " NO, but we don't really need a manager" with a roll of eyes . Earlier, I almost got run over by one of the stock trolleys as well, if i had not spoke up, it was coming for me and the person did not check if someone was in the way. they are that tall they cannot see you over them.... i guess that sums up this store, not really concerned about the customer experience. You get more than you bargained for.
A convenience store which is a decent size with a comprehensive range, slightly more expensive than its bigger family but that is reasonable enough. The team are industrious and friendly, the shop standards reflect this. A useful cashpoint is just outside. Parking is difficult as it is so busy. Security on the door and staff wearing body cameras is so so sad, I feel very sorry that the team have had to resort to these measures and I hope they are kept safe.

Iam sorry to make a complaint because i have never had a problem in any stores however today the security guard at Tescos express was very rude to me. I was just waiting in line outside the store as a woman walked by all of us a cut in line to walk in the store. I simply asked the guard why she cut in and he said shes a doctor so i said "Oh ok and walked into the store) i had then forgotten about it. As i walked out i said thanks to the guard and he said to me " SHE'S A DOCTOR MATE SHE'S WORKING HARD" in front of all other customers. I then said i didn't know that sorry. He then proceeded to shout that at me another 10 times. I understood she's a doctor after the first time he told me I think he just wanted to be a hero and really ruin my day and make me look like an awful person. Unfortunately i can't go back here now. i said sorry and okay straight away but he then treated me like i was not human. Worst customer service i have ever had. i ended up just saying okay you are not listening to me and walked away. i don't know what can be resolved from this but he was extremely rude to me. Ps the only reason i asked why she cut was because my bike was locked up and i didnt want it stolen which happens a lot in Newport.
This is my local shop, I'm in there every day for things like milk, bread and other bits and Bob's, they have a good selection for a small shop and they have some great offers on. The staff are friendly and helpful and always acknowledge your existence. There is a cash point outside and plenty of parking for a little store. All in all I rate this place and prefer it to something like a spar shop.
Went in for a few items, as I was walking around one of the members of staff forced their way through the aisle with their delivery roller forcing me to wait in the aisle. As I got to the checkout I chose to go through with a cashier. The cashier then proceeded to stop scanning my items to check with another member of staff if a customer had paid for their items on the self scan. It transpired the customer hadn't, so then the cashier left me and proceeded to follow this person outside. At this time I was stood at the till waiting for her to return. Another two members of staff then popped up neither of which came to finish off scanning my shopping. Absolute terrible service!
