Massive hospital . Very clean very up to date. There is a lot of parking although can and does get very busy as so many patients to see so obvious parking can be a bit of an issue. . does havea number of food areas and drink areas but given volume of people it could ideally do with some extra food and drink catering for public . Very well laid out and easy to follow guides to departments

I’m still in high care and I just want to thank the nurses (especially Hannah) for their kindness and compassion over new years. It’s a tough time for some, and your staff made things as bareable as possible. I’m really hoping to go home soon but thanks for making Florence proud. Happy new year. The food this evening was a nice touch. X

My wife was taken by ambulance to this hospital yesterday with a back injury. We just wanted to thank the amazing paramedics and staff at the a&e department. The nurse practitioner named Laura in A&E was brilliant, she made sure my wife was very comfortable for the number of hours we was in the hospital. I was very grateful to have Laura looking after her as she went the extra mile and even stayed behind after her shift had finished to help my wife. Thanks Laura from both of us you are a diamond :)

This is not a reflection of the care at Southmead which is exemplary as I have been a recent patient. This is a reflection of car park which is atrocious. Recently park in the multistorey car park in the AM. Return PM to find people double park, blocking lanes and fighting over spaces. The multistorey has no car number restrictions and allows car after car tk enter even if there is no space!! and know body patrolling and issuing tickets. Phoned security and was left unanswered. Southmead get your car security sorted and help youf patients!!@

Southmead Hospital really stands out in a good way. First thing you notice is how open and spacious it feels. It doesn’t give off that cramped, stressful vibe you sometimes get in hospitals. The design is modern, bright and clean, which makes the whole place feel a lot more welcoming. The layout is easy to follow with clear signposts, so you don’t end up wandering around lost. On top of that, they have self check in machines right at the entrance which makes appointments so much quicker and stress free. The staff are brilliant, friendly, helpful, and they actually take the time to make sure you’re comfortable and know what’s happening. You can also tell the hospital values its volunteers. They’ve got "Move Makers" who are dotted around helping people find their way. If you’re not sure where to go, they’ll literally walk with you and make sure you get to your appointment, which makes a massive difference. On the practical side, having an M\&S and a Costa inside the hospital is a big bonus. It makes waiting around or visiting much easier, as you’ve got proper options for food and coffee instead of just a vending machine. Overall, Southmead feels really well thought out from the design of the building to the people working inside. It makes what could be a stressful experience a lot more positive.

A midnight visit to A&E dept via ambulance. The paramedics were fantastic and went above and beyond during the wait to get into A&E. Hospital staff also so nice friendly and efficient and doctor very thorough and caring. Only the ambulance was not allowed to take myself and a frail 89 year old lady home after being discharged. Had to get a taxi which was traumatic at 4am in the morning.

Five star care from Southmead for my daughter as a day patient undergoing a procedure. Thank you to the Cotswold centre for your fantastic care today. You made a difficult day so much better. Our NHS is certainly the best there is

The ward teams are phenomenal, There seems to be zero empathy or knowledge within the A&E nurses. Also they have zero support available if suffering with mental health. Please reach out through your GP for assistance with mental health. Southmead hospital is broken badly as a patient that has been in there more regularly than most in a lifetime. It is not a political issue or money it is and has been extremely poorly managed. They used to do better with a lot less and In wartime buildings

I recently spent 10 days in ward 7B. The care I received was excellent from both the medical staff, and the more domestic staff. Despite some staff shortages and the exceptional heat the staff were efficient, helpful and very kind. The room was good, and air-conditioned. And the food was surprisingly good as well!. Thankyou to all that cared for me. Sue Marshall .during my stay
