It's sad but I would honestly give minus stars if I could. Having the issue is worth not ever having to interact with this hospital again. My initial consultation and check was so very clinical and made me feel very uncomfortable. No information was shared until offered a procedure. Private and confidential details were sent, inexplicably, to a third party which put me in danger. Despite all requests, no explanation was ever given. The medication and procedure details were also sent to this sensitive third party, meaning my medication was not delivered on time, leaving me in limbo for days as to whether I would to do procedure. They also had me go out and buy some of the sent tablets myself. Last minute it seemed to be happening so I turned up for the 9:40am procedure and they then had me wait an hour before telling me the appointment wasn't happening. I get home and they ring me later at 1:20pm to ask me why I had missed the 1:10pm procedure. Confounded, I pointed out they told me twwenty minutes after the new appointment. After asking repeatedly and a little forefully could I make the 1:10 appointment, and when could I get there, I had had enough. I broke down and told them to stop pushig, I now needed to go and take care of my wellbeing because this was too much. I never heard from them again. To be honest, I can't quite believe how awful they were.

Had my gall bladder out 13/12/25 via laparoscopy. I have had many laparoscopy’s at southmead hospital and all were fantastic experiences. So when it came to Emerson’s I was very disappointed at the experience I had. My initial consultation wasn’t as long as I expected. My pre op with nurses was a bit unorganised as the lovely nurse was told she had training mid way through to then be told they wasn’t which was a bit disruptive. The day of my operation I was met with chaos. leading up to the operation in theatre all was okay. Woken up abruptly by a nurse who seemed in a big rush to get me out of recovery. Seemed theatre was busy and recovery full. I’ve never been forced out of recovery feeling the way so did. The nurse was rummaging my patient bag before I had chance to even open my eyes. My trousers were “lost” and eventually found under my recovery bed because the nurae dropped them. I didn’t even get chance to get my shoes on i was wheeled down to the discharge room. Totally embarrassing! The male nurse actually told my recovery nurse she shouldn’t have brought me down without phoning in advance. I was happy to leave in a way because the standard of care was below basic expectations. I am awaiting update on investigation of sentimental jewellery that went missing in recovery. Since then i had to return 20th As I’ve had a severe allergic reaction to the surgical glue (never had before). The doctor was lovely caring and thorough but sent me home with dressings unable to offer anti histamines. I have since visited my GP yesterday and was prescribed anti histamines and anti biotics as my wounds are infected. Really poor experience and I had high hopes after seeing great reviews prior to surgery. I can see since another review says similar, recovery is rushed, this needs significant improvement. I certainly wasn’t ready for discharge and even mentioned I felt sick, dizzy and light headed. It made no difference. sadly, I wouldn’t return for future surgery if given the choice.

I was referred by my dentist for tooth extraction as a nervous patient. The entire process is exceptionally good. All staff were very caring and polite. Facilities are excellent. Arrived for procedure and made to feel at ease at every step. Team were both efficient and kind and smiled when I walk into treatment area. My wife was given clear and informative details of her role for post op care. Some other reviews comment on it being private facility, but I felt everyone was treated the same, extremely well! Bizarrely Im almost looking forward to the 2nd op!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Care and Compassion I recently went into hospital for what should have been a routine procedure, but unfortunately I suffered a catastrophic bleed. It was an incredibly frightening experience, yet the response from the clinical team was nothing short of life-saving. Their skill, speed, and thorough oversight were remarkable, and I have no doubt that their actions are the reason I’m still here today. As a former commissioner and RMN, I’ve seen hospital services from a professional perspective, but experiencing care as a patient has left me truly humbled. The standard of practice, attention to detail, and calm professionalism I witnessed were outstanding. What moved me just as much was the compassion shown by the nursing staff. They cared for me with real precision and kindness—checking on me constantly, explaining everything clearly, and offering comfort at times when I needed it most. One nurse even gently stroked my head at 3am after the operation, a small gesture that meant the world in that moment. I am genuinely blown away by the care I received. The whole team demonstrated what excellent healthcare looks like in practice, and I will always be grateful for what they did for me.

I recently attended Emerson Green Hospital for gallbladder removal, referred via the NHS. My experience started off very positively. During my pre-op assessment, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. As I had travelled a considerable distance, they ensured everything was completed in one visit, which I really appreciated. I also met with a consultant surgeon, Paula, who was absolutely lovely and put me at ease. On the day of my surgery, however, my experience was more mixed. I was advised to arrive at 7:30am and met the surgeon who would be performing my operation around 9:30am. This was my first surgery and first time under general anaesthetic, so I was naturally very nervous. Unfortunately, I found the surgeon to be quite impersonal. The interaction felt rushed and robotic, and he didn’t make eye contact when asking me to sign the forms. While I completely understand how busy they must be, in such a vulnerable moment a little reassurance would have made a big difference. Thankfully, the anaesthetic assistant was kind and supportive, which helped, and the recovery nurses were absolutely fantastic. They were attentive and caring, though I did feel a little rushed when it came to getting dressed and discharged. Overall, Emerson Green Hospital delivered good clinical care, and many members of the team were excellent, but my experience on the day of surgery left me wishing there had been more compassion and reassurance at such a daunting time.

Acting as transport for a patient. Plenty of parking. Reasonably food options including gluten free at very good prices. Reasonable place to wait. Considering I wasn't the patient it was a good experience apart from no WiFi in the dental waiting area.

I have a cyst on my eyelid that has started to get bigger over the last few months. I've lived with it for four years, but now that it's started to regularly become infected, sore, and bigger, I was referred via my GP to have it surgically removed. I had my consultation here today and I was astounded by the consultant's attitude. He didn't introduce himself to me, he dived directly into asking if I'm on medication - when I told him I am on antidepressants, he claimed "how can you be depressed at your age?" Which is just unacceptable in itself - I'm 28 years old for one, and for two no one's mental health should be questioned. He then looked at the cyst on my eyelid, made a noise and said "you really want that removed?" He spoke as if something that not only impacts my vision but causes regular issues for me wasn't worth their time in the slightest. He told me he'd put me on the waitlist for surgical removal but that I'd likely get turned away on the day and it'd be a waste of my time. Just speechless.

I feel compelled to write and say thank you - I was really scared about my procedure today, but the nurse who looked after me was just wonderful. I think her name was Fiona - she totally calmed me down, held my hand and made me totally at ease. A million thanks to her. Also, I was seen really quickly and everyone was just so professional. All the very best to the staff, great experience all in all, despite my very real fears and anxieties on arrival!

I had an appointment here for a hip consultation. I had been waiting for this appointment since my pain started in June 2022 , so was very excited to finally have some answers for my severe pain from a hip specialist at Emerson’s Green practice plus. Unfortunately they were totally useless at the point of use and it cost me £95 for nothing. I was told on the day they were unable to x ray hips and that the doctor I saw was in unable to treat patients of my age (young hips). As it is not my fault I am born with a severe hip condition I feel I should have been sent to a doctor who at least works with people of my age bracket. The doctor I saw was nice but had no idea how to support a patient of my age (23) and seeing as I paid £95 for this appointment I was thoroughly disappointed and scammed out of my money. Do not go to this hospital to receive hip pain care. Awful experience and completely unnecessarily expensive.

Really unprofessional. Had two wisdom teeth removed on two different occasions. Forgot to get me to sign the consent form until after I was sedated, took a picture on my phone of the removed tooth and left the second time without aftercare information. Also didn’t tell me that I had stitches the second time which was new for me. In general the surgeon just didn’t have a great bedside manner.
